Saving files before Formatt

What kind of options do I have to save my files from my HD, which are around 300GB big, if I want to formatt my HD? It's giving me troubles lately so I want to give formatting a go, but I have too much files here to lose. What can I do?

External or use your iPhone.
saving private ryan !
format your other hdd
kill yourself
Format just system partition
Just create a partition, then format and leave enough space to install your windows and problems.

Create a partition on your hard drive, put all the stuff you want to keep on it, then format the original one, it's simples. use AcronisDiskDirector10

well i have never used that partition or so, but how does the partition works? i have read about the program you said, but i don't really know how the partition works (i make a partition, which i have no idea what exactly is it, copy all files to there, then format HD, and then what?)
:/

dl partition magic 8, pretty self explanatory tbh but if you don't know what a partition is imagine it like making 2 or more harddrives out of one drive. It just splits it into the size of your choosing. An d what he meant was for yoj to create one and then put all your stuff on it and just format the c partition so when u reinstall your stuff will still be there.

so i only need to format C: and i copy my own files into D:

easy shit.
or i use my external harddisk and everything is fine.
