Livestreaming ET

At the moment there are alot of livestreams of games like League of Legends and StarCraft 2. Both possible because they don't really have a disadvantage of that little lag that streaming gives, however this little lag makes it almost impossible to stream ET and still remain a stable fps.

After fooling around with XSplit Broadcaster I seem to have found the perfect setting which makes ET playable while streaming and still have decent quality video (and can finally be played at fullscreen!). Now the most communities have their livestreams on the mainpage so people know someone is streaming, for instance: http://clgaming.net/ or http://solomid.net/ . Maybe this is an idea for Crossfire aswell?

Now how would you like to see games through a players eyes so you can exactly see what the player sees and hear what the player hears (including coms) instead of ETTV viewing.

If the idea of getting livestreams somewhere on crossfire gets approved, then I'll make a tutorial on how to stream ET and play at the same time. Streaming does require a good upload, but I'll try to make a low, medium and high setting tutorial for those with a.. shit pc :P

I've been streaming alot lately and also streamed ET last night with a late night mix and 2on2's. I'm uploading this at the moment and will update this journal with the link asap.

So, livestreaming ET, good idea or do you rather watch ETTV instead?

I like the convenience of being able to watch a stream in my webbrowser over having to open ET to join an ETTV server, which i rarely do anyway.
+1 it's also nice that u can watch an occasional match (like I did with alienware cup) without having ET installed

Yea, a decent stream quality would be nice indeed combined with a shoutcast ofc.
Parent
just download the demo and the players cfg.

problem solved. lol.
you, sir, are awesome
1.0 upload enough?
in 3rd world country, maybe XD
Parent
like poland?
Parent
well unless he was talking about 1 MB its not like in poland. my connection is about 3 mbits (symmetric) - i could get up to 6/6 but its not necessary for cpma & lol so this is it.

there's no problem to get 25/1 but thats not the point.
Parent
i actually have no clue bout what you just said, just know polish players always lagg
Parent
sounds good!
Play grush or stalingrad and get still stable fps :<
When the tank is on the bridge, I always get FPS drops, no matter what ;d
Parent
but streaming wouldn't help :D
Parent
quadv had streams through web browsers. some were quite decent, but some were pretty damn rotten :/ so aslong as the quality(both video & audio wise) are decent, i think this is a great idea.
Uploading of my streaming session last night is almost done, will put the link in the journal in a minute
Parent
who's going to be shoutcasting though?
Parent
No shoutcasting .. >_> You will see and hear what the player does and says. It's not just that, also matches that will be livestreamed with shoutcast will be one crossfire.
Parent
upload and put the link in you jew!
Parent
Seems like it failed because of the length :( Ill try to cut the video :O
Parent
ah bad times :( just watched your stream as you were replying to me :D
Parent
:P Trying to find a decent video cutter that works with .flv ,but can't find one that doesn't fuck up the quality, had this problem before :<

E: Ill stream some bio in 15 min
Parent
hmm :< stream looks goods with wow anyway maybe just wait till you play et again and just take smaller videos instead of a massive one.

E: ah cool i'll stay and watch for a bit then :)
Parent
sounds great !!
sounds nice, do it!

I like your idea ati :)
no randomgirl in your journal, here you image: 72973795_81f8eeab41_o
streamquality always tended to suck, but if you can get a decent one..then go for it!
would like to see that
this ideea is good ati,u always post some good stuff.i look forward for those tutorials
like Arena @ WoW ^^
yea i prefer streaming actually its pretty sweet - watched yours a couple of times. As long as the quality is decent and its not lagging saves me the hastle of synching shoutcast and can do other stuff besides it! Next to that its a good opportunity to watch for people that arent familiar with the game or just dont have it installed ofc ;P
I support #atiunderscore for a long time, me goooood!

And I like the idea. ;)
