i love my iphone 4,
wow prices look actually normal.. still overpriced when you think about how shit iOS is :/

iphone 3gs free? oO could use it as usb stick for my car !
how can you call ios shit :s
Parent
Compared to android it simply is :S Altough iOS has become better and better. I remember my iPhone 3g.. I couldn't record movies with it, send mms and do other simple things without jailbraiking it and installing cracked software... But the worst part of this whole OS is that it needs iTunes.

Then iPhone 4 came.. and jobs was like "we invented a new phone cause it can do video calls !"... ye I had 3 phones 8 years ago and all of them were able to do phone calls.. and guess what.. they also could do it without wifi :P On android I can pretty much do everything with my phone. I can change the launcher and let the whole phone look different, I can remove stock apps that I'm never going to need. Custom ROM's are something great as well. You get faster updates, better fixes and overall the custom ROM will optimize the whole OS even more. Multitasking is easier with my phone. Working/Browsing is easier with my phone (HTC Desire HD, Android).. both compared to the IP4. But this could also be due to the 4 touch-sensitive buttons I have (instead of just one normal button on the IP4). For me Android also wins when it comes to apps. There have been so many weird cases with apple (removing apps from the store, 2 weeks later apple releases exactly the same app and earns money with it) and there are so many nice apps that apple won't allow. On Android everything is possible :P

i have an HTC Desire HD, its been sat in my drawer for 6 months, i fully tested the Android OS and although i conceded as part of my review that it could do most things that the iPhone OS could (compared to my iphone 4) it was just so much harder and more complicated to do it. Even texting on that touch screen keyboard isn't as fluid. I also tested a windows phone, a standard desire and i tested back then the latest blackberry the torch and i would still choose an iPhone over all of them.

more complicated to use.. well at the beginning I had the same feeling. Simply because its something different than what I was used too (iphone) and because there is much more things you can do. But after getting used to it (and knowing androis os) I just loved it.. and for me, working is way easier and faster than with the iOS. What exactly was the problem with writing sms? If its the keyboard layout.. then yes.. it took me a while to get used from it after coming from the iOS :P But I know from friends (that used android and then moved to iOS) that its the same thing if you do it the other way. And android can't just do what the iOS can do.. it can do much more.. it starts with the settings, goes to the apps and ends with the whole OS. And that is not just because the OS itself is better.. but also because apple restricts every random crap (and then says they invented a new technology.. video call lal) e.g. mms, video recording, many many many apps, etc

its only me or its going to be cheaper than older versions? (200$ for 16gb)

also, no "theres one more thing" :(
One more thing > Siri
Parent
Haha yea, thats classic and awesome, but i guess it's reserved for Jobs :)

galaxy s2 > iphone:)
I'd recommend Nokia N9 its actually awesome!
What is so special to own an iphone or another expensive one.. All you need is to call and send text messages with it.

Apple's shares went down 4% after iPhone 4S release. Too lazy to translate so this is what google has to say.

QuoteSan Francisco. The company introduced the iPhone 4S, a new version of the popular device, the company said is "completely new inside," but its shares fell to 4% after the announcement.

The device has a new chip that enhances the ability A5 games and your battery is eight hours of talk time on 3G.

The head of marketing, Phil Schiller said the iPhone has a sensor 4S in its eight-megapixel camera and a "great new wireless system."

Apple shares fell 1.65% to $ 368.20, which weighed on the Nasdaq.
sony ericsson k750i/w810i for the win, fuck your super phones
It's a disappointing upgrade from the 4 but, I'll buy it, just for the camera and that assistant.

After using Android for 4 months, I found that it's absolutely dreadful. The amount of apps that break down, the bettery drain the ecosystem has and the general 'feel'. Also, Android's voice system on the GS2 sucks balls, and since I'll be driving alot of the time during the next year, the text and email system will be great for me.

Sold my GS2 for £380, easy bash.
you have one of the first dual core devices whichs stock battery is the same that devices with a single core have. what did you expect when buying this phone? Its like buying a 170hp car from 10 years ago and compare its fuel consumption with an 170hp car of today. I have to add that I never rly liked the Samsung Galaxy phones anyway (because of their "poor" quality compared to HTC). But it was up too you to check out the phone before buying it. So battery drain isn't a fault of the OS (actually there are apps on android for ages already which improve the battery (slow down the drain) and iOS could dream of them :S). I never had any problems with the apps on android as well. But this could also be different from phone to phone (Android is running on 7800 devices.. some app's simply aren't compatible with every phone.. but so far I never had any of those non-compatible apps on my HTC Desire HD).

About the sound system: No idea. Never tried the one on the iOS and never tried it on Android. But I think there are different ones for Android?

Just to let you know, I work in a mobile phone retailer so I do get to test phones etc. I also got the GS2 amazingly cheap and with it being the best specced phone at the time, it was the most worthwhile. I came from an IP4.

I've tested several mods who say it increases battery life, but i'm lucky to get 5/6 hours out of it, considering what i do. Looking at my battery usage, between 30% and 60% is from the OS, it actually tells me that Android OS uses that amount of battery.

The heat issue is the biggest factor. I run any app, be it downloaded or stock and it get s hot, real quick. So much so, I left angry birds running on it for 20 mins and I managed to cook a small piece of egg on the back!

sounds too me like those are all bugs/problems that a "really new" system brought with it (dual core). I really don't know much about the SG2.. never used it.. but I can compare my HTC Desire HD with an iPhone 4 really good.. and when it comes to the battery, my device (HTC Desire HD) will last twice as long as the iPhone 4. It doesnt matter if its listening to music the whole day on the beach, using the phone as navigator or radar-warner.. The HTC DHD always lasted longer.. although it has the faster CPU, GPU, more RAM, etc. Ironic is that people claim that the HTC DHD is one of the worst HTC devices when it comes to battery drain :P So I could also buy a better battery which would give me another 1-2 hours.. but I really have no problems to use that device for 48-normal hours or one day full of gaming/music/video/internet/etc.. and the iPhone 4 couldn't even really play music for ~7-8 hours (where I could use the whole navigator + music for the same amount of time.. and then the most batter drain is caused by the display which is again bigger than the iPhone 4 display). Also no heat issues with my HTC Desire HD (even when leaving it in the sun on the beach with some apps running for the whole day). And my HTC Desire HD has gone through a lot of things already :P I lost it on the street infront of my house.. it was there the whole night.. and it was raining like hell. In the morning it was completely covered by water.. when I took it there was water coming out everywhere. It still was working. I turned it off, let it dry.. today (9 months later) its still working :P

Had the iPhone 3g (for ~2 years) and the IP4 (for 1 months or so.. and now my dad has it since its release). So I think I also know the iOS pretty good.. and Android (especially with HTC Sense) wins everywhere for me :S

My cousin has a DHD ah he struggles to get a day. He has a charger at home, work and the car! The best i managed with the IP4 was 39 hours! was happy with that :)
Parent
Tell him to get Juicedefender.. one of the great apps that doubles up the battery life. And then tell him to get a custom rom (e.g. android revolution hd). But even without Juicedefender I was able to get one day without problems. And then again.. the DHD is one of the worst devices when it comes to battery life. I mean.. stock it has the same battery as the HTC Desire (slower CPU,smaller display,...) :P Luckily you can buy better ones. And luckily there is juicedefender & custom roms. Something I just remembered:

When driving to Italy with my father (we both had the 3g) it took us both devices to have the navigator on for the whole trip to italy (so one 3g was good enough for 50% of the way to italy). The IP4 did ~80% of the trip and we then had to re-charge it in the car. My DHD did the whole trip and had 16% battery left. At 15% Android will start to reduce the battery drain by stopping syncing, decreasing brightness, etc... so the last 16% of the battery would still have lasted for a long time.
Parent
Honestly it sounds like your phone is faulty. I have one and the battery life is good and it doesn't get hot even when using the browser for 1 hour +. Try talking with Samsung support, you might be able to get a replacement.
Parent
Their hardware and prices finally can compete with brands like HTC. If they would fix their OS and get rid of that shitty design they brought with the iPhone 4, I could imagine to like it.

@edit: okay their prices were with contract.. so they are still fucking overpriced.
im happy with my HTC desire S
