when gammajumping if you use both w+a and w+d and use both sides of your screen, that is what is known as "fullbeat", if you only use w+a/d or a/w+d only and keep facing at one half of your screen as in the video, that is known as "halfbeat"
halfbeat is disliked by some/a lot of people because it came around in ET/probably RTCW as well quite a while after fullbeat and is generally considered quite a bit easier to learn as there is less margin for error
