I'm a complete newb with terminology so go easy in the replies. I have 3 setups connected to my internet, my pc and two laptops. One of the laptops is not connecting to the internet, even though it displays as being connected. I tried all the basics, restarted my router, virus scan etc, disconnected, reconnected, but still no luck. Initially, it was just google chrome that was having issues, but now there is no connection whatsoever. Any ideas? Will a format work?
if u have them on cd ofc or download them via another pc.
i don't know if it says what they are over there but u might give it a try.
(guess you mean by "no internet connection" "via browser" and not at all? or also for any other application?)
or maybe also when trying wireless. if yes go to "start->run->cmd" again and type "ping <insert ip-address of your router>" (without the "" and <>, which should work just fine then (if you use DHCP and not static ip-addresses and after that try an IP-address of any pc on the lan instead too)
my isp only allows 2 at the same time, so when my pc and laptop are connected, it's impossible to surf with a 3d device (mobile, laptop, pc,...). it connects to the wireless, but it doesn't obtain an ip etc...
vista/7 -> network and sharing center -> adapter settings -> choose your adapter -> right click -> properitiers -> tcp/ipv4 -> configure -> set everything on automatic & check validate settings on exit -> exit
or if everything is set to automatic already, enter some random IP, exit / reboot, change it back to automatic exit/reboot.
