Zombie Mod - Graphical

Hi, thanks for all the testers and people who've submitted feedback.

The mod is now available at this server: 85.17.212.183:27963

Join the server and then download the config below. Go to your ET directory and inside the zombies folder put the config below in there, also inside the profiles folder.

You will need this config file: www.mystica.org.uk/autoexec.cfg

Go to ET type /exec autoexec in console, then type r_ignorehwgamma 0 and do a vid_restart.

There may be a 60mb download file, please make sure to download.

Not really, I will release a low quality one and restrict the cvars so they're forced even more. I've only done this due to people saying it was suitable and it adds atmosphere to the game. The config is nice, everything is custmisable, like resolution, binds, mouse settings, audio etc... just keep graphics settings as they are or kick:P and banned cvars :)

You mean the blood flash, not spurt right? As in on your screen, not out of the character you shoot?

I'lla dd a 100-110 FOV, that is the limit. 120 ruins the game and look.

sorry if I dont get it, but what except a different hud and some custom textures shall these screenshots show?
Code is basically physics testing. I was only saying what is capable with ET, and this is the graphical look of Zombie Mod. I've increased a lot of the games ability to allow more particles, debris, increased visiblity @ a distance etc...

If you jump in and test the game you'll see. The config and cvars in that cfg will be FORCED in this mod. All cvars are locked down for optimal gameplay.

yea, just saying the shots do not show much of that imo.

Also if I am not mistaken that textures you used for gravel and similar are from cgtextures. You should not use textures with shadows in it. Shadows are supposed to be casted by the geometry and look very unrealistic if they are a static part of the texture. Just a tip.

No idea where the textures are from tbh, a friend of mine made it. There is also shadows inside of the game (geometry), the textures look really nice, and do not look unrealistic imo.

What else would you suggest for the textures?

e.g. the textures of screenshot 4 and 5 have alot of 3d & shadows in them (texture), but are purely flat (brush). They might look good if you watch them from top or the right angle, but as soon as you get close to them or crouch/prone it just does not fit, if there is a big shadow on the wrong side of the sun. E.g. there are two shadows (one from game geometry) and one from the texture in different directions. That makes no sens ;)

edit: when you go near some walls the timer/fps moves/disapears

Well, the reason I'm locking cvars and forcing them is because I need to create the right 'atmosphere'.. what kind of zombie mod would it be with gamma 3.0 and picmip 3... a shit one?

This will improve the gameplay and doesn't decrease the FPS...

I have a shitty 210 Geforce which is like £20 and it plays absoloutely fine @ 125fps...

i find it easier to change gamma etc on ET than going to my graphics settings and changing it there everytime i'm going to be playing in a server like that which is not likely when i can just exec my cfg in server /vid_restart and keep going back again to play....people want to play with picmip 3 that's their decision unless it's communist style...

If you have a problem playing with a config for a game mod, don't play the mod. ET is 1 of the few games which allows such changes, I'm only improving on it and pushing the graphics for a darker and ery map. Lights glare, shadows cast, textures are crisp... going to be shit playing Oasis with sand like snow and drawgun 0...

Config will be forced, high and low settings will be released...

100-110 fov is limit.

i like that graphics and other things that where locked are unlocked plus improved, maybe make an addon pk3 to servers idk how this coding works but it would be great having it with other mods, even that zoom in that cod blamed wolfenstein for "stealing it"
