The only interested teams were Man U, Man City and Chelsea. 3 teams who can offer a LOT of money, but Chelsea just won the Champions League and I think he'd be surest of his position with them. Not that bad a choice.

So more like 180,000 a week. Although all wages are rumours, and rumour has it that he's on 250,000. To put that into context:

It's the equivalent of:

4 Demba Ba's
4 Gareth Bale's
3 Rafael Van Der Vaart's
2.5 Mario Gotze's
2.5 Luka Modric's

Arbitrary numbers I know, but it still seems a helluva risk.

The thing is that is before he has been proven at a top level. Say he gets the most assists in the PL in the next few seasons, when it comes to renegotiate how much will he want then? £300,000 a week? £350,000 a week?

In two years he could be demanding the equivalent of a third of what Stamford Bridge takes in on match days.

Sorry but are these released figures or speculation? The problem is you don't know what type of contracts these players have...the goal / performance bonuses that are available.

If you want to secure the best players of course you have to pay out, if Chelsea didn't offer such a good contract he would have gone to Man City....

He is young and incredibly talented. Of course, they'll pay him more than someone who's around 25 yold. He ruled the french league and has a really mature gamestyle for his age.
I'm pretty sure he'll be the next CR7.
