vlc lagg

watchin max chapter 3 the screen just pauses @ 00:25 but the sound continues, and the screen just stays there for whole movie.

cut to the chase: how do i fix it?

it pauses for 2 seconds twice but then it continues...

mp4? maybe your hardwares to bad... (cpu)
close all programs, go in taskmanager and set the priority of vlc higher than normal

got the same problem.. reinstall graphic card driver or download the x264 - 400p version of the movie.

Got the same, what worked for me is letting the movie just play completly first (don't have to watch ofcourse).
Then when I retried it worked quite ok.

use avc codec together with mplayer classic. vid is playing fluently on 1.6 ghz laptop!
