Video editing software

a friend of my asked me to make a short movie about his dog (which died 2 weeks ago) and I need easy to use software for that.

well it's not something special when a dog dies, shit happens.

But his dog was only 3 years old and died because of an heartattack. So my friend wante dto have a short movie in dedication to his dog.

What the software has to be able to do:
- using images
- using .avi
- make one part of the .avi's and the images with (simple) effects between them.

I was going to use windows movie maker but since that shiity program stops working when you want to add an effect I started searching for an other program. But al programs I found weren't able to use images only avi's :(

I don't care if it's freeware/shareware/cracked software just need it for this simple movie.

vegas would be good but u cant open avi, so u have to convert those avis

4 (lowres) avi's, around 60 photos and 1 music track

I think I can do it myself if I have the right and easy to use software.

But if somebody want's to do it for me I'll appreciate it because I'm a big naabie in movie editing.

just use sony vegas, you can import the movies there and create a loop of effects and with that automattically comes it makes the images the same length (appearing on screen).

maybe I would hate that specific dog, but then it's still posible the love other dogs.

For example I love my dog (a hyper active 10 years old labrador retriever) and I hate my grandma's dogs a fucked up french bulldog which is allways eating holes in my shoes and pants.

howto?

just import the images (same way as .tga's for ET movies?) and make a 0.5 FPS movie (2 secs per image)?

if it is as easy as that I can do it, atleast I hope so :>

the best programs is Virtual Dub and Sony Vegas :)

easy to work on it when you skilled :)
