fps lag @$!@$@!

I'm owning Cybergames #5 at the moment, but I will get suddenly 30 fps or 1 fps for 3 seconds and then 125 fps again and then 2 min later again 30 fps or 1 fps and then 125 fps again how can I solve this problem?

check punkbuster cpu usage in task manager
shut down messengers etc

Every 2 minutes? Lucky you. I get similar lags in 5 to 10 second intervals. Well, not that severe, my fps only drops down to 70-80 from 100, but it still makes the game impossible to play.

When checking the task manager during these spikes, I can see PnkBstrB.exe taking 10 to 20 percent of my CPU time and then dropping back to 1 percent. Nice fuckup, Evenbalance!
