not even a salami
w8 4 new processors
Well it's not like I'll have enough money to buy them, unless you mean wait for them so that the price on the C2D's goes down, in which case, how long do I have to wait? :\
Parent
I've read the new Intel Penryns will be released within two months
Parent
But I've got lots of 1080p sat on my harddrive that could be getting played :( :( :(

Suppose I could maybe get an audio player now and upgrade later

New gfx card Meezer?
Why bother... The only thing better than my card is the 8800 series, ala top of the range. Don't have the money and don't need it.
Parent
Suppose, but an 8800 would be nais!
Parent
you would also have to wait 2-3+ before you get it :<

Pretty expensive imo.
Corsair XMS <3 <3 <3
Parent
thats very good, but i'll would take the Asus P5K but im a fanboi. That mobo is also even good.

Maybe wait for month till new processors.
what for you need that PC, imo your old one is still n1ce
Athlon 3000? Not really... it's a HUGE bottleneck. It sometimes struggles to play back high bitrate 720p files :\
Parent
No gfx card or keep old?
It's a 7950GT that I received a few weeks ago, there is no need since it's better than all the 8600's, and I don't need a 8800 :<
Parent
your motherboard is a bit cheap

might slow the other stuff down
not really.
Parent
motherboards just for plug ur stuff
Parent
true, but a cheap motherboard wont configure very well in bios
Parent
this is a very reliable and not a cheap motherboard.
Parent
configure what? :)
you know there are some ppl who dont really want to overclock their hardver

my brother bought a very cheap asrock motherboard and he still can use his 3400+ around 4200+, he just changed the fsb easily.
Parent
I just have bad experience with my current motherboard, cheap as fuck, cant even change fsb in bios
Parent
I bet you bought few years ago and not in 2007/8
Parent
You can also take E2200 and overclock it to 3ghz or smth. And then after the E8400 Q9450 are realised you can change it :)

Btw your hardware is pretty expensive.

Erm, u can also take P35-DS3L if u dont need raid and DDR3 support...but, if u ll take E6750 i suggest u to take new E8200, it's cheaper than e6750, same speed but more cache (this has 2mb more)..dunno about multy though... but I would rather take e2160/80 or e4500 and overlock it to 3ghz, the difference won't be that big (comparing e6750 to those at same freq), and then u can also take cheaper ram with cheaper chips, because their multy is very good so u dont need high fsb (334x9 @e2160 on auto voltage)
rest is fine...and about gpus, AMD has bestbuy graphics atm, HD3850 is a bestbuy, but i wouldnt change it for that one either.
uhm only P35C has DDR3 this board is allready without DDR3. And raid is allways usefull for the future =)
Parent
mm ye,thought that this has ddr3 aswell...then it's better to take ds3 because it has raid, and its a lil cheaper than this
Parent
Im not sure I have the cooling to get that to 3ghz

Also, I'm a linux user, me using ati would be like trying to make a car run on shampoo
Parent
to be honest, u only need E2160 with M0 stepping... and with box cooler u can get 3ghz, i ll take p31-ds3l, 1gb kingmax 667 and e2160 m0 stepping this month. the fact is that it's not worth to give so much money on components anymore...another fact is that u can get a very good mbo for 80-90€ and good cpu for 70€...technology is moving rapidly, and prices are cheaper every day
Parent
yap thats true, and E2xxx cpu is good middle step for upgrading to E8xxx serie and Q9xxx in the future.
Parent
anymore information on this OC business then? I'm new to intel, was always an AMD fanboy.
Parent
i never had intel before as well, and i still have amd but i ll definetely go to intel now...and since i'm buying new mbo & cpu now i found some croatian forum which is very good and i have read enough about it...and they all say it can go to 3ghz without any big problems. read on some international forums, should be somewhere around
