All codec packs suck ass and create more problems they solve.

All you need is ac3filter (Audio) + coreavc (h264) + ffdshow (xvid)

ag0n made the best tuttorial about viedo codecs few months ago..
Now I really don't remember whats the name of that tuttorial but i can grant that every single clip/movie works properly.

When u are going to watch bluray movies in 720p and 1080 i/p. You need to have a good codec setup.

what's the difference?does the movie in mplayer have better colors,is it longer or are there just super cool special effects in it?can't really imagine how a movie could be better with another player if its already running normal

VLC is very inefficient. Lower spec PC's that can do 1080p with mpc won't be able to handle it in VLC.

^ uninstalled all my codecs, installed those and I still get audio only, my new pc hates codecs or some shit :/

CoreAVC is the fastest h264 decoder I've tried, beats VLC's internal decoder and FFDShow's libravcodec easily.
