... integrating an anticheat into a mod without having its source code
an idea came to my mind a few days ago and i wrote some test code yesterday to prove my theory based on no other mod but etpro itself.. and guess what - it worked exactly like i thought it would!!!!
i'm a but busy this week, but i hope to get something useful to share with you asap. this way an anticheat can't be as strong as when it's built with the mod's source code (i.e. cetpub), but it can still be a lot better than pb and still have all the original mod features without modification
as a side note - cetpub&etace are not dead, but we'll try to make this work since currently cetpub/etace don't have gameplay features/optimizations for usage in competition
more news soon! :D
its like... bullshit
edit: oops, reply skillz: low
o_x
they all die a lonely death, so care
it would, of course, use a different pk3 because you have to distribute it somehow, but the mod would stay the same.. to you, it would still be the same old etpro with all its features
and thx for wasting ur coding skills for that stuff instead of getting money for it
and thx 2 me for writing here instead of writing for some srs bsns nexsbabar and uhrnin' muunee thair
but then there is a strict EULA, it doesen't allow you to demand money for your work on ET (not said by these words, but it's smth similar and i cba to check the eula file now.. something about commercially exploiting the game)
nix (newest) cheats will obviously be detected once you code your shizzle?
i did anticheat for linux in cetpub, but i'm not sure if i want to develop new linux methods for this one because it's not as easy as in cetpub :|
