I have no clue how it works, since we did the same at my friend next to me but didn't work for him. I had the code at right from up to down 3024165.

I only know that I had at the squares like 2-4 down there, and then 4-6 and I continued switching blocks till I got 7. No clue how it works though.

You have to see which tile number is on the bottom if of the left set of tiles. Then the one that is above it and so on.
If you put the tiles on the right side in that order you will get a door :>

Hold the left mousebutton and sweep it left to right. You will see some drawers. Nothing is in the drawers :> Underneath is the key.
Then click on the top right of the drawers to get to the door.
