Sony Vegas Questions!

Helluw everyone!

I'm planning to make a movie of me and some friends freestyle skiing. I've got Sony Vegas (6.0) and afaik this is one of the best programs to do this with.
But I need your help for some things.

1. How can I get the best quality? Which settings should I certainly apply so my movie will have a decent quality playing it full screen.
2. How can I put text on a movie "piece". (For Example: my mate Jeroen is doing a jump and I want his name to be on the right top corner of the movie screen)
3. How can I put images on a movie "piece". (For example: it's created by JR Studios, and I want their logo on the screen.

1. Just take .wmv 5MBPS
2. ehhh theres a tab next to transitions for that
3. make a new video stream, select it, open the image, stretch it as far as you want it to be in the movie

I can see template, but there's no such option as 5MBPS, but might be because I've got 6.0 an not 8.0.
And for nr2 you mean "media manager" right? I can't really find how I can put text on a movie there :<

he means the last tab, media generators. choose Text and go from there. to overlay footage on top of eachother, just drag a video clip above the one you already have (on another video track). you can adjust the position with the pan tool, (above the grey / green cross at the end of the video in the timeline)

and how comes that when I use .wmv and 5MBPS that there are pretty huge black borders around my video when I play it in media player?

resolution in the template and source video are diffrent

same fps, resolution and pixel aspect ratio as your source footage. if you have media player classic, open the video and click properties, you can see info about resolution and fps there. pixel aspect ratio will most probably be 1,0000 (square)

I can't really handle this one very well. When I make the F thingy smaller and move to the right of my page, it just shows my selection zoomed out. But I want the whole movie smaller and moved to the right of the page. (hope you understand my crappy English ;))

probably cause you're trying to pan in the middle of the clip. go to the first frame of the clip in the pan tool and do the panning then, it'll stay on the whole clip

i dont really know, but it should act the same as ET since both use q3 engine

avidemo doesnt affect quality though. i guess you should use about 200
