minimizing ET

right, whenever i minimize ET, either with etmin or this new one of lightnings, my gamma fucks up in game and goes really dark, therefore i have to vid restart every time after i minimize which sometimes causes me to get kicked for the heartbeats thingy, any suggestions as to what to do? i'm not really up for putting in any complicated cmds every time i play et in order to stop this, but isn't there anythin else i can do? its pricks like tyyrd that spam me on irc and make me minimize :[

that changes gamma on desktop and not ingame afaik

not rly. Your desktop brightness is much lower than the one in-game.
Afaik its OpenGL that takes your desktop gamma and puts it ingame.
When you put the r_ignorehwgamma to 1 it just ignores your desktop gamma and goes on with the current one. Should work fine! =)

then change your gamma r_gamma 1.999999 to 1.999991

easy problem solved ..

Well, I made it like 4 years ago, don't use it much nowadays, but the point is that if you use r_ignorehwgamma 0 you can change r_gamma without vid_restart, so at different maps it's easy to adjust gamma fast with 2 keys only.

when i really want to change my gamma, I open console and type it in.. you have much more options when using console, its faster and easier..

if i minimize on r_mapoverbrightbits 3, my desktop is too bright to see :<
but r_mapoverbrightbits 2 i can only use for snow-maps or oasis, but then my desk looks normal :<

That's a problem I always had with my ATI graphics card. It seems to be gone now when I have nVidia.

Never had a problem with it. I only have to vid restart when I make changes to my cfg and as its windowed I can alt+tab into any other windows, apps etc that I need to....

I dont personally like minimizer add-ons.
