Dear Vista-User or -haters?
i'm not sure how these options are called in eng. and i got only a few screens in german (yeah i'm lazy npnp), so if there are any questions just pm ...
step 1: Boot-Up:
start -> "regedit" -> "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters"
entry: "EnableSuperFetch" -> change value -> 3
step 2: Autostarts:
vista got too much unnecessary stuff, which starts automatically...
with this tool...

...u can easily remove unnecessary autostarts...
what u need or don't need should be your choice ;)
step 3: Search-Index...
just turn it off :D - while playing or working on your pc, windows is indicating your files...
just remove all the hooks...
step 4: Aero-Glass effects
i can abandon them... it saves your memory and makes windows a bit faster
just use standart windows styles and effects...
step 5: taskbar / start menu
rightclick on your taskbar -> properties
just remove the hooks @ recently opened files and recently opened programs
step 6: pagefile
make your pagefile bigger...
rightclick on your "computer" @ desktop or start menu -> properties -> advanced sys-settings (at the
left...) -> advanced -> performance -> advanced -> settings or properties (i'm not sure) -> virtual
memory -> change the value -> save
step 7: defragment[/b]
i use auslogics discdefrag...
i think i don't need to explain that part?!

the result COULD be like this:
Deze foutmelding komt wanneer je geen service pack 3 hebt op Windows XP.
Oplossing is om Service Pack 3 te downloaden en installeren of Windows Vista gebruiken.
Een workaround is om in het register een waarde te veranderen om GTA te laten denken dat je wel SP3 hebt. Het is geheel voor eigen risico om dit te doen.
Open de register editor (start>uitvoeren/run>en tik in: regedit en dan
Ga naar de volgende sleutel en wijzig deze zoals er staat:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows]
"CSDVersion"=dword:00000300
Murr dat is voor winxp though.. ik zou zeggen dat het op vista misschien hetzelfde zou zijn? maar dan ipv dword:00000300 -> dword:00000100

Step 1: Run Regedit by Clicking on Start -> Run , type in regedit and press enter
Step 2: Make a backup of your registry (just in case)
Step 3: Browse to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Windows"
Step 4: Modify the value of "CSDVersion"to the Windows vista SP1 value of "0x00000100"
Step 5: Close registry editor
Step 6: Reboot
Step 7: Start GTA
without any security progs/firewalls/... installed
just used the normal windows defender stuff
and yeah i know noone would use it... but if u compare the security on standart install
if u r able to use google, u r able to install and legitimate vista ...
option a) just use the asus key...
option b) bootloader (and hell ye there are loads of bootloaders out there... <1mb ... just save , run)
option c) install - try 30 days... meanwhile use google or write here to get help

i have photoshop + vista ultimate... works fine 4 me...
sometimes starting as admin isnt enough...
+ Microsoft stopped selling windows xp as of today
but many bugs :x
i've tried the beta... it's fast, looks good... and not many unnecessary services running at boot-up
if they dont change it, it could be a better OS than xp :D
is there any picture or website where i can see them compared to each other ?
waiting for full release!
prolly by support they mean updates + service packs?
xp is the onyl good thing windows ever did nway - they shouldn't leave it!
and i'm sure my tuned version of xp beats the pants off vista anyday
