does anyone know how to automatically get rid of the non-aac type files

ipod - only takes aac files

limewire - comes only in mp3 or wma format


when i convert i end up with 2 of every song

rly annoying

itunes should just take mp3/wma ¬.¬ so if my HD crashes i have it backupped :C

You can right click on the tabs above the songs in a list, select "Type" or similar (I have Dutch iTunes so can't translate properly). There you have it!

MPEG audio file means MP3, AAC speaks for itself.
