Press and hold control and drag the video to the left so it gets shorter. This will fast forward the whole video.
There's also a way to only fast forward or slow down a small part of the vid but I dont have vegas installed right now so I can't exactly tell you how.
1: the one xeoxis described.
2: right click your clip and select insert/remove envellope. This gives you a green line in your clip which you can drag up and down. also you can add point where you want to increase or decrease velocity for the remainder of the clip. This allows for great syncing.
3: rightclick your clip and select properties. Then adjust the playback rate. The default is 1,000 which stands for 1x aka normal speed. You can adjust this up to 4,000
