I have never in my life really cared about mousesettings etc, only if the mouse fits my hand and shit, and how it looks.
but I sometimes feel ingame that the mouse can't handle high speeds (and I make fast movements a lot ingame, unlike many other players)
first of all, I've gotten pms and shit by people asking why the hell I got 'smooth mouse' in my cfg, I didn't even know I had this on and that it was bad :D
must've turned it on when I first made my CFG ages ago, is it really that bad and should I change even though I've played with this on for years?
Also, I use an A4Tech X7, mostly because of the shape but according to esrealitys mousescore it's not really that bad anyways, but as I said it doesn't seem to react well when I make fast movements ingame. Could I do something to prevent this from happening or would it be more worth it to switch mouse and get used to that mouse instead? For example deathadder (which is a bit too big for my liking but it seems to be top notch according to http://esreality.hexus.net/?a=longpost&id=1300293&page=2)
I'm currently using A4Tech X7 @ 1600 dpi, 800x600 in ET, 1280x1024 in windows with 75hz.
Another mouse that I've been considering to get is MS 1.1 or 3.0, the size/shape seem to be really nice but I've heard it doesn't perform as well as for example the deathadder.
Give me some of your opinions on which programs/settings are essential to achieve the best possible performance in games and overall, and also your mouse recommendations (btw, i'm not interested in MX513, it's too heavy and the cord is too thick for my liking)
I feel like i'm missing out on stuff, help me out, ty xx

and yes I got negative accel atm but I don't care about it cause I usually don't move very fast with my mouse cause my sens is high enough..
da's beter om neg accel tegen te gaan oa en neg accel fucked uw aim wel degelijk op ze spiroze ... :<
Second thing , downscaling dpi like that is very stupid and bad for your aim...
sens*4
You may get some negative acceleration with 1600dpi, thus feeling your mouse can't handle high speeds. Try 400/800.
the thing is that when I for example make a 180 turn really fast my crosshair sometimes ends up in the sky or in the ground, it's pretty random
also I sometimes feel that it's somehow unstable when I move my mouse, but at the same time the crosshair still ends up where I want it to and stops exactly where I want it to so it's not that much of a problem.
it skips pixel to make the mouse smoother, but what rarely no one knows is that it only skips 5 pixels on 100 on average, meaning it's useless
"It averaged together the samples collected at the last two frames, which worked out ok if the framerate stayed consistantly high and you were only averaging together one to three samples, [...]" (Carmack, John, 1998)
You have to play with 125hz and this is a handicap. Buy a decent mouse and u1ll be even better like +5-15%
and if you use high dpi u should use rinput.exe
125hz - 8 ms
After you play with 500/1000hz u cant play with that shit 125hz, This is what i noticed
im playing with 1800 dpi + rinput.exe and tested 800 dpi without rinput.exe
400dpi sensitivity 4
Do the math. :d
but he has to use lower value now because he used to play with negative accel
Personally, I was thinking about getting this mouse to see how it performs in comparison with my MX518 and perhaps even change it to my primary mouse, but the thing you said discouraged me a bit. Are there any other strange things about the IKARI I should be aware of?
[(Maximum dpi) x (In-game sensitivity)] / (Minimum dpi) = (New Sensitivity for max dpi)]
current sens *3 for 800dpi *4 for 400dpi
so every increment of 400 is double the sensitivity
so my sens has to be 2.25/4 OR 2.25/(2^3) if I wanna play with 400DPI ??
(you and slarti are saying different things if I get it right.. he posted a comment abit above, I'm confused :( )
times four not / made a mistake first
ET sens * DPI
on ur sens
2.25 * 1600 = 3600
3600 / 400 = 9 for 400dpi
3600 / 800 = 4.5 for 800dpi
ofcourse ur windows sens should be in the default middle spot (6 of 11)
oops
Too bad I broke my G5 left mouse :O I'm stuck with only my mx518, but there's not much of a difference. Modified Razer drivers to work with it, playing at middle dpi and sensitivity 2.25 @ fov 110 and pitch 0.016, feels smooth. I like it.
got windows 7 32bit,
didn't use an accelfix (wants to if needed?)
I'm currently using Logitech G5 @ 800 dpi / sens 8.0, 1280x1024 in ET, 1280x1024 in windows with 75hz.
windows sens is 6/11
some info pls :D
