It's a Wrap!

What Enemy Territory and RTCW movies always lacked is quality. Even though moviemakers have had tga_merge on their disposal, noone actually used it. Well, moviemakers, this goes in favour of your laziness, you have no valid reson to make bad quality movies anymore.
New moviemaking tool is here!
Bitmap.se has released a new tool that is based on tga_merge, but works like tga_hook.
Wrap writes screenshots to ram, merges them, and then writes only merged screenshot (blurred) to hdd.
It allows greater blur control then tga_hook and it also has a feature to change r_drawworld & r_fastsky color, by default it changes it to green, but you can easily change that. Head down to http://www.bitmap.se/itsawrap.html and read everything in detail.
Also, I renderd a short privew clip from upcoming trickjump movie that is being developed on this wonderful new tool, enjoy!

help pls
same :(
try that untill he finds a way to fix the problem
also if you're starting demos by some external program, try starting them normal way: ET.exe>mod>etpro>demos>select>view
I agree with you. Make movies instead of quality tests.
:|
Have you tried windowed mode? (Switch to windowed mode before installing the DLL.)
Tweaking / editing and stuff is still up to you :)
So you can get it with 55mb/min. :D
I'm not whining anyway as it's only really there to showcase the tool at high quality so there probably wasn't much effort on the encode.
how could you know ?
you made me hungry, the best wrap in lagland is 135 km away from me
/cl_avidemo 30
and then drag your screenshots into virtualdub?
Make sure that "basepath=" (in opengl32.cfg) points to a valid directory.
http://www.onesoldier.co.uk/merlin/viewpoint.zip
+ yeh was a retarded mistake, with basepath :D
Post the basepath you're using and the full path for the game including the mod folder please (e.g. e:\games\rtcw\viewpoint\screenshots).
Have you tried both an absolute and a relative path?
Example of absolute path:
Create a directory named screenshots directly under C:\
Make sure the current user has write access.
Set basepath=c:\screenshots
edit: clip was nice and it even worked on my pc w/o lagging but 1mb/1sec? :FD
Does "itsawrap" have the ability to save as jpg like "tga_hook"?
Sounds like a good replacement for tga_hook :)
If only screens would be saved directly to jpegs and not tgas .... ;)
That's on my list. ;)
I still get this error.. (when i try to open the et.exe)
I copied that 2 files into the et directory but i couldnt open my et.exe now (only if i remove those files).
1. Download new version http://www.bitmap.se/download/itsawrap_v060.zip
2. Unzip the files to your ET folder
3. Open opengl32.cfg in notepad and insert the following line:
log=1
4. Start ET
5. Send me the contents of opengl32.log in a PM
Also check that the following file exists: <windows>\system32\opengl32.dll
(That's the Windows OpenGL DLL that I "wrap".)
Thank you.
<windows>\system32\opengl32.dll <- i have this
*edit*
shouldn't even be necessary, logging is always enabled
Could you try this slightly modified version: http://www.bitmap.se/misc/opengl32.dll
And try with this version of msvcr80.dll (in your ET folder) as well: http://www.bitmap.se/misc/msvcr80.dll
you may want what it says on the console?
Sure (the part after R_Init is enough).

You and HeRMe apparently have something in common that breaks the DLL, but I don't know what it could be (virus?).
I'm afraid that I won't be able to fix this since I'm out of ideas (for now at least), sorry. :|
PnkBstrA/PnkBstrB doesn't cause that problem for me on W2K, but you never know... :p
I unfortunately got the same problem.
To me it apears like it mixes up you opengl32.dll with the one in system32 which is a graphiccard library, which has to do with 3d --> "WARNING: missing Glide installation, assuming no 3Dfx available".
I don't really know how the program works, as I couldn't open it, but would just renaming it be an option?
http://www.bitmap.se/itsawrap_cod2.html
My current theory is that some SW (e.g. antivirus) is blocking the DLL (for the wrong reason :P), so it would be nice if everyone with this problem could tell me which antivirus and other anti-malware programs then have running, and which OS they're using.

thank you
New feature is cropping, which saves 25% disk space for those who capture with a 4:3 resolution but want to crop to 16:9 (e.g. 1280*960 -> 1280*720).
;bgcol=0.0,1.0,0.0
merge=30
skip=10
weights=1,3,5,7,9,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,9,7,5,3,1
basepath=etpro\screenshots
crop_top=0
crop_bottom=0
help me :DDDDDDDD
crop_bottom= ?
;bgcol= ?
merge= ?
skip= ?
weights=1,3,5,7,9,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,9,7,5,3,1
basepath=etpro\screenshots
crop_top=0
do i need to fix this or its good ?
What FPS will the movie be?
At which resolution do you capture?
Do you want green screening?
The default parameters are good if you capture with cl_avidemo 1000, the movie will be 25 FPS and you don't want to crop (at this stage) or use greenscreening. Different weights may give "better" motion blur though (this is subjective and depends on the type of scenes you capture).
I tried to describe the parameters on the web page, so I don't know what more to say (without repeating myself) unless you have more specific questions.
http://www.bitmap.se/itsawrap.html
:)
resolution - 1280x720
dunno about a green screening
tnx =)
:P
If you capture at 1280*720 and want the movie to be the same resolution then leave the crop_ stuff at 0.
30 fps !!!
merge=34
skip=0
weights=1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,9,9,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10
(Other parameters same as default)
Note though that you won't get *exactly* 30 fps because of the engine, see the motion blur tutorial for more info about that.
http://www.bitmap.se/itsawrap.html
+ Fixed problem with spaces in basepath ^^
+ Changed filename to allow longer sequences (assuming someone else has removed the engine limit=)
I think i used the 0.60 because with merge 34 it stopped at the 295th picture : o
I hope this new version fixed this limit !
What should i do ?
This wrapper doesn't "unlock" the 10000 screenshot limit that ET has, you'll need that 10000 fps hack for that.
Cannot create file screenshots\2007-07-03-230354\image00114.tga (3) Cannot create file
edit: FIXED
Let me know it it works or not. :)
