Blight.ET Private ETTV

After releasing their configs & settings, the Blight ET team has now come up with their second community contribution in the form of inviting the community to watch their practice matches.

They will hold a weekly ETTV practice session every Tuesday from 20 until 22 CET starting on the 26th of January.

So if you want to see how pracs are going amongst the top teams of ET, or if you want to see if Estonia

Night or

ferus always got their gameface on, make sure you don't have anything to do on Tuesdays!

In order to get the password to the private ETTV server, you only have to idle on #blight, and ten minutes before the match you'll be given the password.

Well... it's based off the Quake3 engine, it is a deathmatch/objective game. You run and shoot (very hard I know), you need aim to play. Like saying you could win a match without much shooting and trying to run around corners hiding. Never works. You need aimers in a team!

CS players even pay for top players configs, or take actual lessons for over 30€ per hour. That's not uncommon.

And I'm pretty sure they also have their private HLTV servers in some premium services, like SK insider, or mouz insider (if that still exists, don't know)

Talented? I don't think there's much talent involved in gaming. Of course some people learn a lot faster than others or simply have some magic touch. But most just comes from endless practise hours.

And I simply don't have enough time anymore and don't want to invest the rest of my free time in pracing, atleast not for a new game I'd need to learn from the scratch.

A lot of the top CS players dropped out from school or stopped other educations to actually live of the money they earn from CS. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be able to pull off the playtime they have each day otherwise.

I'm not gonna risk my future for a few years of fun, e-fame and some money. I'm not 16 anymore :-P

Taking StarCraft as an example where thousands of people play 10-12 hours a day - yet still there is someone like FlaSh who is winning vs everyone. You can't tell me he is playing more than the other players. Taking ET you can't prove if there is a correlation between playing much and being the best of the best because the level is so much lower and no one really plays it for a living and taking it serious.
