Profile:
Name: Paul "eVo" Sexton
Age: 24
Clans: sFx, WoN
Average gaming time: Too much for my family it seems
Biography
I started gaming back when i was a kid with my first ever Commodore 64 and i swear they made the best games back then; sensible soccer etc. Since then i've played a variety of games but without a doubt for me Enemy Territory followed by maybe Star wars: Tie Fighter were some of the best games. the classics are still the best :d
Fairly aged, hooked up and having several years of gaming experience; Tired of gaming?
No i'm not tired. Satisfied and happy with what i have done.. yes. Gaming for me has always been a hobby that i have enjoyed when i had nothing else to do at that time. It stopped me going too nuts and going out drinking and partying all the time and blowing all my money :D
The story behind your nickname?
Well back when i was a noob i just call myself Paul and then realised this sucked and i need to "evolve" and get an online handle. Thus i chose evolution which everyone found easier to just cut to "eVo"
Did 'eVo' indeed evolve over the years? :P
i hope so, i hope that people will have seen the change in me, the change in my skill from nub to a little bit better than that. I also think the people who i have met and have gamed with have influenced the person that i am today and thus "evolved".
How has gaming changed your life and yourself?
Thats a tough question. In some ways at a certain point it got too intense and negatively affected my life, my job and the people around me. In others ways its tought me things that i wouldn't necessarily have learnt without being in sFx. Dealing with all sorts of people from around the world with varying religions and beliefs in sFx has been a plus and a great experience.
On the whole i am happy with my gaming career and i hope i dont look back in years to come and regret certain aspects of it.
I guess every gamer goes through some stage or other where they wonder if its all worth it, the time it consumes etc, is it too much. I dont have the answer to that. All i can say is that i can look back and be happy with what i had and i hope others also manage to find a nice blend.
Gamers are no different from ordinary people in terms of up and downs. What would you define as your best and worst experience in online gaming?
Potentially one of the worst experiences for me could be when some members of reloaded who i considered friends at the time did a member walk out to start on their own because i wasn't active enough at the time to properly run the squad. In retrospect i learnt certain things from that which i suppose help.
The best moment; I cant think of a specific one but i can say that when i'm gaming with my team and it works, the teamplay, the aim and at that point you think you could beat anyone and you "laugh". Those moments are the best. When everything just falls into place
Being involved in sFx Gaming, can you elaborate on your involvement in playing and organising sFx Gaming?
I was introduced to the game of ET by a friend and was instantly hooked. That was when i made the decision that i wanted to make sFx a multi gaming clan. I recruited in ET and eventually formed the first ever sFx match team. it wasn't overly skilled maybe low/med back at that point in my career. I then left sFx for a period to create the clan WoN( the lineup included the renound xfire admin nellie :D).
Mostly this stemmed from a desire to take a break from the management that was required at sFx.. After a while we all became a bit inactive and decided to call it a day. After a short break and a brief stint in EE i couldn't resist and rejoined sFx and then created what would later be known as the reloaded squad. Whilst this was going on i wanted to push sFx further and developed sfxgaming.net the enterprise. I formed deals with internet providers in holland and we started selling our first ever servers with the sole intention to become self sufficient and to give somethings back to the community. Sponsoring organisations like Warleagues, ET-CUP, Fear Factory, Kreaturen to name a few. i then changed tact and decided to also take the clan into pure multi gaming. With kreaturen and FF inactive we decided to recruit our own team. Enter Skit-Evil and Muse. Both have been brilliant acquisitions for the clan. Since then we have also had teams like the sFx LAN squad and now we welcome the all finnish lineup of Murso to sFx.
If you could go back in time and change something in gaming or players, what would it be?
I guess remove all the players who i allowed to be in the clan that just whine and piss everyone off, refuse to play against lagging polish and ban wisse from ever being in sFx :D
If you could be someone or something for a week, who or what would it be?
Its gotta be a bird with awesome tits and i would probably just sit there playing with em all day :D It just makes sense to me
