Whilst I am more than happy with the mass cheat bust of the past days I must say the reaction has been somewhat over the top and the overall problem is far from solved. Who did you want to get banned? Danone? Butchji? When they weren’t on that list what did you feel like? Well it seems that what was a great achievement has unearthed the problem in ET that enough never really is enough.
When an IP similar to that of Danone rose out of the ashes of netcoders it saw the mob satisfied all be it for just a few minutes. Those minutes were enough to see his clan remove him from the team and Danone now cleared of any involvement with netcoders left screwed as pressure from the mob forced 141’s hand. 141 claim he was going to be kicked anyway, but there is no doubt if you look at the timing that the cheating scandal surrounding him for 10 minutes on Thursday night lead to his dismissal.
Similarly, an iRC prank saw gambit convinced that I (manager in zP) had removed zP.Butchji’s email from the msn contact list of the netcoders chief. It was only later when Clown informed him of the prank were his suspicions relieved. Are people really that desperate to see the fall of the top order of ET? Whenever a finger is pointed is there a need for vindication without justification?
The downfall of evan was comical at best, however he wasn’t playing on a top level and infact if he was cheating he was balancing his conscience by the fact he spent so many hours working for ET, even since being banned from Clanbase Admin Crew and from the Crossfire site he has still requested to be allowed to post content and previews. Ironic that CB had no problem kicking their own and yet it is rumoured they’ve had plenty of problems banning those found guilty by Fusen.
The problem that people seem to be facing is that like it or hate it, nobody truly good at the game has been caught hacking and it also says a lot about the likes of h3, electro and co that even with their hacks they were still med skill at best. So ask yourself what are you looking for? Do you want someone to tell you Butchji or Danone hacks so that you can feel confident that nobody could enter the competitive scene that late and be that good. RazZ was caught and convincted but as this latest bust gets started, he is just finishing his ban, my personal opinion is that he simply should never be let back into competitions, I certainly dont want to play against him, do you? Or would you rather wonder about Butchji or Danone?
I don’t understand what people are looking for, sure I took great pleasure in hearing that h3 was mid conversation when pointed to etnation where he learnt his fate and disconnected without a word. But do I want to learn that the Eurocup players all hack? God no, that would kill all faith I had in the game and its community. Fusens bust was more of a re-assurance than a damning reality check.

That's why we were speaking to a certain player about being our new 6th for a month before this incident?
Whatever.
This incident was not the reason we removed him.
just filling in the jigsaw :P
Nice to write things you dont even know. np! Maybe I should start write columns also which are based on guessing. Would you like it?
and you can't disagree this.
Danone is guy with Brain.
But I guess the really good ones don't need/want cheats. e.g. Urtier is in the bestest etclan in the world. Anyone with that status would be stupid to risk it all for a lousy wallhack.
Tru skillz > h4x
hence the name of the folder : "dynip" = "dynamic ip"
or in this paticular case, the gay method NTL uses of whole city proxies. I was merely showing one ip matches these two users
nice giving a false colour once again tosspot.
Minor point: Not entirely certain why you're so anti-razz, Toss. I mean, I fully understand the ban (even if it was, in my opinion, excessive), but you want to bar him for life based on using rivatuner? Given how many others used similar settings on rivatuner prior to our advice that it was forbidden, that seems a little harsh.
he learned his lesson harsh way, in my mind we can forgive him that one incident.
Punkbuster never was good anticheat tool and im far for using that crap, but what kind of support you can expect for a free game? In rtcw2 [if its gonna be released] there will be smth you can fight for. Besides most of Et scene are kids 15yr old or so, no offence but can explain a lot.
Yeh u get the occasional rotten apple a bit more often then in 6o6's but still, there's more whine then cheat ^^
@pumu
probably he didn't,but you cant be 100% sure
I can't wait to see the eSports "world" in a few years ;)
