This weekend Idle completed the move to the dream land of Dignitas, where counting their pennies before every event was to become a thing of the past and whilst it may not be raining money for their new ET team, they do have a security that no other ET organisation have had the luxury of.

However it is not the money that the community will judge them on, it is the results. There was only ever one team that could play under the Dignitas brand and be just as successful or even more so than the original legends of the game. Where as names like Night and Urtier may now be the leaders of the pack, it was the old rewind RTCW side that first graced the Dignitas name and to some status.

History repeats itself if every aspect of life, and wolfenstein is no exception. The new Dignitas side has so many similarities to the old its unreal.

Only one other team in ET’s history could boast quite the unbeaten record and the acclaim that comes with it. Dignitas’s first ET squad came with un-beatability installed additionally they had the reputations and experience that saw them capable of challenging the hierarchy and return to the godlike status they had in RTCW. Idle joining dignitas with a reputation to defend, much like rewind(mth) joined dignitas from their RTCW exploits.

Rewind went on a Dignitas or Idle like run of many months without defeat back in the hay days of RTCW, and Rewinds run ranks up there with the best of any RTCW teams achievements. The idle side joining Dignitas have just completed a tremendous 12 month 6on6 unbeaten run and will look to continue the run of the first dignitas side who were unbeaten since inception into Dignitas.

However like rewind before them, the safeguarding of one of the greatest names of the games history must be considered. I see the numerous rewind teams in et now and I feel sorry for Darkie, Pjoter, Intact and the gang that someone has allowed people to tarnish a sensational reputation. Whilst it may be a given that dignitas’ same reputation will likely be in safe hands, one can only hope that another idle ET team does not spring up, despite the teams long legacy in the game prior to this teams glory.

Another linking point, all be it far fetched has to be Intact. Mr. Eurocup who graced the u96d roster with immediate impact was talismanic in Dignitas’ success and unlike many before him, made a heroic comeback with the Estonians at Quakecon 05.

Its ironic that where u96d had to rise to the challenge to claiming the number one spot, Idle, like Dignitas before them, have had it relatively easy defending the crown. Only Parodia will claim to have been able to dent the reputation of the Estonians and even that dent is small when looking at the size of the crown jewels.

The parallels of dominance, quality and history mean that it had to be idle to take cement their place amongst the untouchables and don the dignitas tag.
