KiH head to Copenhagen with nothing to lose and everything to gain, the one time RTCW powerhouses are an outside shot at best for the top placing but they’ve a roster of pure brilliance that may just cause an upset or two.

The side that took silver in Eurocup 10 RTCW, and one of the few teams still active that can lay any claim on the once wearing the infamous iNfensus tag features wolfenstein talent that no ET team has had since the first Dignitas. One of the biggest differences between RTCW and ET certainly is the rate of fire, and the reaction times needed to survive an RTCW smg fight certainly needed to be quicker. When you bring together a roster that knows where the trigger is at lightning speed it really doesn’t matter who your facing you’ve got a chance.

KiH have brought back Arne from a prolonged absence from the limelight and thrown in former noll8 rtcw star Ozzy (Who also can boast an ET Eurocup silver medal). With Fette and Smutzig fresh from their Quakecon experience the side are well aware of what it takes to get something out of any event. In Zerom’s last outing in ET, he was, just like the RTCW a multitasking masterpiece he became famous for and the lineup is completed by one of the newer generation of ET players, Eddie.

The team’s strength is undoubtly their pure aiming presence, however their Achilles heal will be their lack of preparation. KiH is a name that hasn’t shown up on the competitive radar since Quakecon. Their rejection from this seasons Eurocup without a qualifier could have been the death of the side, but credit to them they’ve stuck at their guns and seemed destined to attend CPC2 aswell. However, a team like Dignitas can afford to be lax in their preparations, KiH cannot. They’ll benefit from the fact that the majority of them have played together in a variety of games for a long time, and that they’ve quite the cohesion as a unit but that’ll only go so far.

The schedule isn’t the best for KiH, they’ll face Black Magic first, BM have their eyes firmly locked on taking second place from this tournament. They’d ideally like that game last and take the games against smaller opposition as efficient warm up. However they do face zeroPoint on Saturday and that will aid them to no end. KiH should look to take their games against Merc and Kapow to get into the grove if their preparation has been as ‘loose’ as has been touted. KiH versus zP will be a cracking reunion for some of those involved in the Crossfire vs KiH quakecon match. zP will be without Butch who is one of the few that can stand toe to toe with the KiH power and if KiH can fire on all cylinders then that match will be a real corker to start your Saturday.

The fact is that if KiH get going they’ve the presence that can hurt anyone, and Dignitas are no exception to this. The Swedes not only possess what it takes with the smg, but when it comes to the faceless side of the game, they know their stuff. I remember vividly sitting commentating on KiH ripping some German team to pieces on Village with support fires, FeTTe the man of the moment on that occasion. It also pains me to remember how easily Zerom tore UK NC team I captained to pieces with the panzer in one of the earlier nations cup.

KiH could grace ET with a new style of play, they’ll throw everything they’ve got at the big boys and heads could roll. The question is whether their uncompromising skill that could see them turn up and crush any team still playing RTCW without preparation will transfer to ET.

We’ll see the answer this weekend.
