Ah my friend, the inevitable. My third lan to date, and pre-setting off I had been determined to cover the mistakes of CPC1 and PGA and arrive with absolutely everything I could possibly need for the weekend. That was the plan anyway.

As it worked out, I had to travel to the airport via college, after going to my morning lessons. This included a suitcase, camera bag and essentials bag. As it happened, I had to stash the bags behind the front desk, and collect them afterwards. This I did, but at the same time a rather interesting scandal was developing outside, which promised to see a few of my friends being suspended. In the heat of the moment I left my camera bag behind, containing not only a film SLR destined to create 8 great rolls of black&white slides, but a dSLR which had in it an SD card. This card had not only photoshop - the bread and butter - but all the cheque psd files and previous CDC work. As you can see, its now pretty late and I'"m still awake. No prizes for guessing why.

So my dear crossfire readers, your correspondent did the natural thing, and downloaded a copy of photoshop portable, for speed and simplicity. Simplicity my wannabe dutch ass. When trying to load .ai and .eps files for the cheque designs, the fact that it was a stripped down version meant I was given no such ability to use these files. Following much cursing and frowning (my bnc also decided to perform standup comedy by randomly connecting/disconnecting at the same time), I found lady fortune in the very masculine and ESR honcho Netherlands A-SPEC, who afforded me access to a private torrent site. Now I have my photoshop here again, I have decided upon two things. Firstly Netherlands xRio should be here and suffering these problems instead of me. Second, at 1am I am faced with remaking the cheques again. Now while its nice seeing these winning boards at events, lets face it, they don't impress mummy too much. Just goes to show just much sponsorship is part of gaming these days.

Now everything is working, its back to work for me. After having a 7 hour journey to Enschede, its head-down time. I won't deny, I got off the wrong train. More about that later. Whats coming your way this weekend is an absolute feast of premier quality gaming, packed with news, views, opinions, interviews and loads more as we seek to make this the best Crossfire LAN thats ever been. Who knows, perhaps we'll even bust someone as well! Enjoy the show.
