With three episodes these columns will bring you a view behind the business we are all together with every day we play or talk about the games. With more than 40 years history of gaming so far, it's much you can tell about the mistakes and ideas, failures and success which repeat over and over again. Even though the amount of success is going downwards, failures keep us up discussing about the background.

A good game never dies
Now what does this have to do with ET? With Crossfire? With anyone around? - Well, within the past years you could read journals, threads and columns about ET being predicted to die the day after. Of course many players have left and most of those are forgotten today but the game is still alive and that's because of the community we have here on crossfire [or for haters: next to us, on Taggers] and the staff for the leagues and cups you play all night long. All this with the fun and action showing up in IRC and in the game makes ET what it is.You will always find a moment to have fun in ET, let it be after a month or two or just the next minute or second. With your own history going all way long to the first breath ET made - or into the times RtCW was your number one - you will never forget what happened to you in game or on crossfire as well as you won't forget about the fun in the game. ET will always be remembered for anyone playing it today and for everyone whoever worked for it [and it's community].
But is a memory alive? For me it's not, but with the background behind the game and the world around it - looking at Pacman who kept alive and kickin' for more than 25 years not only as entertaining game but around all of us as a social trademark, Counter Strike who keeps it up with more than 10 years already as game discussed whenever some crazy prick turns out to shoot some people - and you can be sure there will always be one public in ET ready to join up, at least.
Today, ET is far from it's death, with CC7 standing in the line to open it's doors, expect the entertainment coming and don't even consider the time after the LAN event already since it won't make any sense to expect the unexpected as so many other people did.
Also, there is always something to improve - whether it be here on Crossfire or outside - Even though TosspoT doesn't like to see discussion being held on TAG's website about major decisions of the competitive future probably, another community for ET will not kill the long existing one. If you noticed the coverage for the clash of UK's best field ops [which hype aka kamz aka whatsoever did not win,] you should have noticed that there is always some entertainment factor within the competition, and a competition beween two communities brings you something to laugh about or something you will discuss about without a single doubt.
Have you ever heard of Blight Gaming or Team Rockit? Both organisations grown up without the energy ET still has, but with different games - like Team Fortress or Counter Strike. After the era of Team Dignitas, Mamut, idle, Button Bashers and Impact there are still new organisations coming up supporting the game. Including and definetly not forgetting TosspoT's latest clue with Intel to partner up with Crossfire for the next Crossfire Challenge Edition.
Many have shown up, only time will tell if all of these keep their promises and put the faith in all of us and in all of those who keep spectating on the ETTV servers.
There are just some reasons why the entire package "ET" can not be killed from a day to another for the entire time someone is doing something for it - and as long as a single piece out of the package exists the game will keep it's flag rising higher and brighter every day.
Sneak Peak
The next episode will finalize the idea behind all this. Bringing you an inside on opportunities we have with ET and next to it. Also, it will bring my point of view into all this with a short review on what you just wrote._________________________________________________________________
- Please accept the fact I do not play steam games and I am not willing to rate
those games nor their publishers, therefor counter strike received just a little side
not and half life is completely ignored even though it is worth to be mentioned
along with Quake and UT -

but ofc with a "not so highskilled" team
about 5 years ago people claimed et is dead... and they never stopped and never will stop
Only problem, why I don't play it is my stressful reallife at the moment
