Today inFlux! Rockafella did an interview with none less then Trigger from team SPEED-LINK. Who is without any doubt the best German Call of Duty 2 player and of course known for his career in Call of Duty under the ranks of OCRANA. After we saw OCRANA returning to the scene with a new team and SPEED-LINK recently adding z1N, Rockie thought this might be a good time for an interview. Now get some popcorn and enjoy this with a great gamer and person!
Rockie: Could you introduce yourself for the few readers out there, who don't know you yet?
Trigger: All right, my name is Michael Sowa, online better known as Trigger I guess, I’m turning 20 in 3 weeks and living in Remagen, Germany. At the moment I’m trying to make our comeback with Team-Speedlink, a real one, and planning some new projects for the CoD2 Community, which are secret right now =)
Rockie: Okay, is gaming the only thing you do in your life, or is it a hobby which you do next to a job or school..?
Trigger: For sure its only a hobby. Its CoD2, u cant get rich with it even if you’re the best team over a longer period. I’ve done an education as merchant for office communication lately and planning to do a new one in September this year. I just see gaming as a hobby in which I really put much time in. Not only for the team itself, but also a lot of other stuff besides that. If I would get money for that shit, it would be nice. But as this isn’t the fact right now, I’m just spending a lot of my spare time for it.
We just recently saw z1N, former player of the German team sfto, join the ranks of what might be the best German Call of Duty 2 team ever, SPEED-LINK.
Rockie: Do you think you have gathered a stable and powerful line-up now to become the team again you were at the start of Call of Duty 2?
Trigger: I really think with z1N we have the power again to become one of the Top-Teams in Europe. He’s a really good talent and is fitting really good into our team spirit. But the question about us being number one is impossible to answer. It’s hard in this phase of CoD2 to be a clear Number 1 Team. If u see the last 5 Events in CoD2 on LAN, every time another team became first and that’s why u cant be sure about anything nowadays. But we try our best to make this happen again and that’s the only goal why we tried it again with a new lineup after 3 months of inactivity.
Rockie: What is the most important thing you saw in z1n, that made the decision for you guys to pick him as your 5th player out of all the trials you played with?
Trigger: Well he just fitted in. He’s a nice and funny guy and playing a really good shit. He’s a strong aimer and able to-do clutches as most of us are as well. It was pretty quick sure that we would pick him, just after 2-3 weeks, but we planned to get 2 new players which failed after a longer time with testing kickz. So we decided to only pick z1N in.
Rockie: So now that you've got a solid line-up, what are your main goals in the near future?
Trigger: Our Main goal will always be the number 1 spot of Europe. We had it already over 7 month or more and we know its possible to be there again. That always will be our main goal. But for the first time now our goal will be winning the crossfire LAN - or getting under the top 3 of it - and arriving the EuroCup LAN-Finals again. Everything else we will have to see, what LANs coming up etc. But we are always up to win it all =)
Rockie:Crossfire Prizefight Challenge 2 is maybe the biggest LAN which is coming closer and closer, what do you think will be the outcome of this event [top3] ?
Trigger: Uhm that’s really hard to guess and I’m bad at this. I’m not sure if dM is attending, but if they do it will be hard. SPEED-LINK, dM, tek9, Dignitas, these 4 teams will be on top I guess. Not sure who’s winning it or not.
Rockie: The 'smoke bug' which caused a lot of upset in the start, is now almost removed everywhere, what means this for your team's tactics?
Trigger: At the beginning of this discussion I really was mad about all the whiners wanting to remove the smoke. But after some time I saw there is no other way and with the shgOpen LAN - playing it for tek9 without smoke - it wasn’t that bad anymore. Sure its a hard thing now especially on Burgundy or Dawnville, but overall its pretty ok. As we are doing all of our tactics new anyway, it’s not too much "more" work for us. I guess other teams will have more problems with this.
Rockie: Would you like to see the smoke come back [fixed of course] ?
Trigger: I wouldn’t say no to this, but make it final then. If it’s able to be fixed, just get it back and keep it like that forever. If not, stay with the removed stuff. I don’t mind too much anymore, but if 2 different Events or Leagues will have 2 different modes like 1 with smoke and 1 without smoke, that would really suck.
Rockie: At the start of Call of Duty 2 a lot of people wanted the shotgun out, would this be something what you would like to see still, now that the smoke is off?
Trigger: I really don’t mind. One way it would be maybe cool without it, another way its a good strategy weapon and without the smoke the game lost already a big strategy point. I think its pretty the same as with the smoke: remove it or not, but make it final and same in every league.
Rockie: What would you like to see in the next patch [if this comes] of Activision and why?
Trigger: It wont come so its useless to talk about such things. We shouldn’t make ourselves happy with hoping on a new Patch if its really not coming anyway
Yesterday a maybe surprising move was announced when the German organisation of OCRANA had let the scene now that they would come back into the Call of Duty 2
when they removed most of their squads under which you guys as well.
Rockie: What do you think about this?
Trigger: I really can’t understand this from OCRANA. Its nice to see them coming back after it didn’t work out without shooters. But to take such a squad in with erv aka plotsch - a known cheater under fake nick. I am really disappointed about the "glory" of the name OCRANA.CoD being fucked by such guys.
Rockie: Would you had rather get a invite of OCRANA instead of the schildkroetencrew to go back to where you played so long, or are you cool in SPEED-LINK?
Trigger: Well we aren’t that cool in SPEED-LINK anymore but we know that OCRANA isn’t able to cover the things anymore as they did as when we played under their flag. We wouldn’t want to join instead of the schildkroetencrew and I really would prefer a team like ex-dM or n! joining them instead of the schildkroetencrew.
Rockie: What is the biggest difference between OCRANA and SPEED-LINK these two famous and well respected mgc's in your opinion?
Trigger: Well OCRANA was my start into all this stuff. I really enjoyed the time in this clan and especially the organization and friendly guys in it made the day. SPEED-LINK is also full over nice guys, even though the organization is not all the time working perfect, but then again they put more money in us as OCRANA would ever be able to.
Rockie: What would you like to OCRANA to have, that would get you as a team back to play for them?
Trigger: I don’t think we will be back in OCRANA in any time. The whole organization changed and its just not the same clan anymore. Also some talks with the head of that clan shown me, that its a totally other thinking in there now and this wouldn’t fit in any case with our thinking.
Okay, now some short questions to sum things up.
Rockie: z1n or spaR?
Trigger: z1N, for fucking sure! :>
Rockie: Fuchsstute or Messias?
Trigger: Fuchsstute!!
Rockie: SPEED-LINK or OCRANA?
Trigger: SPEED-LINK for now, OCRANA for the old time
Rockie: mp_harbor_cod or mp_tripoli?
Trigger: mp_tripoli, I hate the Russian weapons/maps

Rockie: Food or Gaming?
Trigger: Food u need to live, gaming not.
Rockie: Well, we have had a chitchat about everything I wanted to know, are there any things you would like to say or any shout outs, then please go ahead.
Trigger: First I want to thank you for this interview. Then I want to do shoutouts to my team, team-venus - the best female CoD2 Team around =) www.team-venus.com / #team-venus - VISIT THEM! - and I great everyone who’s reading this. Thanks
