Whilst sitting on the lovely GGL couch at Quakecon 2007 I was lucky enough to have Europes Quake allstars sit down next to me and I just happened to to pop open and Crossfire and steal the oppourtunity to catch a word with them.
Purri, What are your thoughts on Quakewars where are you playing a bit for FOE
I only played the first open beta, and I think there is some work to do. It could be a really nice team game if you get into a good team. I dont know whether I'm going to play it because its 6on6 and I dont think that 6on6 is going to be a very popular LAN game or tournament game. But I think it looks pretty ok!
Fox, tell us about your time with iNfensus.
Well, I happened to live in the same time as civ and zam and wizz who were in the first lineup of iN. We were actually clanmates in Quake 3, so they were trying to convince me to play wolfenstein with them and we went to LAN in civ's basement we ended up playing for about a week. Things went really well, but I decided to stick with Quake 3 as ESWC was coming up. They added me as a backup to the roster if they were ever short, but I really only knew beach and I didnt end up playing with them. I'm still really good friends with the whole team, summ3l, SoD Hombre aswell. Now that I've moved to Stockholm which is where they live now also. SoD helped me prepare in Quakeworld for this tournament, he showed me some moves in DM4, hes really good at it. I won the first game, and then he came back and kicked my arse all over the place in every game after! (He had been inactive for more than a year)
Stermy, tell us about your time playing RTCW
I played in xXx with Vicious, Bruno, Creator, dani but I cant remember the rest, after that I joined mad squad for a little bit and played with Kajab and Sengo etc. I think it was a really fun game, at the time I was playing Quake 3 and ET and most of the ET players were really good players in both ET and UT back then. It was really good fun for me to play, learn the game and compete. We played in Open Cup back then, I remember playing against ocrana, Mad Squad, mTw. When ET came out, I was already full time Quake 3 and then Painkiller when ET came out so I didnt get to play us much but it was basically the same.
When I came back and played one scrim in ET not to long ago, I really wanted to play some more. I felt it had evolved alot from RTCW, etpro had made alot of new features and I thought it was really different and good.
You can follow these three in action in the Quad Damage tournament, which concludes tommorow!
