With the uncertainty surrounding the future of Tzac, there is a risk that the community could become split over its replacement. There is, however a consensus around the community that a replacement is needed, and without doing so risks dipping back into the dark ages of 2008-2010 where cheaters spread like wild fire. During this article I will be looking at two possible situations: firstly situation 'A' where Tzac continues, secondly, situation 'B' where Tzac is discontinued.
If Tzac is to continue, great! I doubt anyone would complain, except perhaps darkrider. However, what is not great is the current state of the community. There are two major leagues in et, clanbase and Esl and in no circumstances will the two assimulate and this is a good thing. However there is a third league with the ET community top of their list of priorities, Crossfire. Crossfire is the hub for the competitive community and with this comes the power to influence and increase the life span of et and its community. In my opinion what Crossfire needs to do costs very little for a massive return. Firstly a crossfire minecraft server, afaik there are an abundance of crossfire minecraft players. Secondly the crossfire content competition has been a massive success, why not build on it?. The best kind of content in my opinion are fragmovies, so why not create a fragmovie competition (I can't remember the last one). Thirdly more competitions. The last BFB tournament was a massive success and created a model of how content should be done, from the detailed newsposts to showing how streams should be utilised in et. These competitions could be a future BFB tournament, Crossfire draft cup or even ET allstars. Finally, what is apparent in ET of late is the lack of shoutcasters, this is because I assume Tosspot doesn't have much time and Owzos voice broke so he now sounds like sylvestor Stallone. The answer is to inspire new shoutcasters, through yep... another competition. This will entail a popular clip (eg. Lepari doc run) where each competitor has to record themselves casting the action. Obviously it isn't financially viable to run so many competitions but these are just some ideas and they don't all need prizes.
Lets look at the second scenario, 'situation B'. If Tzac is discontinued, presumably there are two options; esl wire or Clanbase AC. This is where the community is likely the be split. Esl Wire does seem desirable due to the fact it is a professionally coded ac and is regularly updated. However competition would be limited to Esl, which would mean no more Anti-cheat for publics or IRC wars, although it does compensate for this with its versus system. Secondly there is the clanbase AC, somehow Clanbase has always remained the top dog in ET with Opencup, Eurocup and Nationscup maintaining the most popular and desirable competitions, there has although been a swing recently due to the good work by sn4ke and the esl team. I know little about the Clanbase AC so if Killerboy or someone could clarify this. What I do know is that there would be a clash between which anti-cheat to use and if both leagues remain could this mean using two anti-cheats for different leagues and what about publics?
(Disclaimer:The middle paragraph is mainly opinionated and the last paragraph is the main argument.)

Put a demofolder, give the same demos to everyone and let them make the best out of it, with good prizes!
* About CF competitions now, it was really enjoyable, great coverage and stuff but I personally wouldn't watch a game with today's "great" players. Yes, I'm from the nostalgic part of CF community.
* New casters would be great indeed but ETTV viewers' interest is really low and I know what I'm talking about (compare viewer peaks today and 1year ago for example, it says enough). If someone has the courage to cast then he should probably use a videostream and promote the show everywhere.
*(edit)Concerning fragmovies, I totally agree a competition would be great but you have to make sure the winner will be rewarded... I still remember "TLR map creating challenge" I'm not sure it ended well... even if the maps were there! (my apologies if I'm wrong)
I know it sounds somehow pessimistic from my pov but today I only consider ET as a game to play when I have nothing better to do and I want to have a laugh with my e-friends.

---->from that there should be something like "beginner lessons" you know, some tips and tricks..
I know there is many things what you can www.fuckinggoogleit.com ... But this game is 9yrs old,free.. They have to have some motivation and if you/we want more active players for more competition (i think there is enough nerds to play 24/7 to get better...) at highest level,we should make it easier for them...
Hope you know what i think....
For your fisrt point,i still dont get it.. Why CB wont/wouldnt use p2p anticheat?.. (ignore the first part for now)
Thats fucking stupid,no1 (or really small %) will use their AC if it wont work good.. And the system with ESL wire + CB AC is so stupid aswell...
Everyone can stream now, it´s easy and you can do it too. But why will someone stream, if people are not interested and they are not giving a shit about it? (Like sometimes when we are doing interviews, only 3-4 people of 70-80 people who were watching stream were asking questions on IRC channel).
Also, our (#et.tv) streams was from the start unsupported from newswriters and ESL/CB admins or this community site. When I wanted little support from crossfire, they said their support is enough (They let me to write articles, journals and news). Only ESL reflected some small interest, but their interest rapidly decreased.
:{D
Like its big deal to host a Nationscup with different name...who cares if its made by ESL or CB? Rly. They are equal to random tourney.cc cups, no prize, many mixes, etc..
What about you guys just simply quit the drama and choose the smaller shit from the options. CB was always shit, ESL also don't give any f_cks. They support other games with money, big tournaments, what ET recives? "Superbattlecup by RandomAdmin1337.PL"
You want to stick to competitive eSports. Thats why its difficult, otherwise CF could set up its own ET league and everyone would be happy. Now you need to decide where will you shout your mouth and be happy with your "brand"-ed tourney.cc cups. ESL/CB :D hf hf hf
e: in before mad league admins whine @me because they put so much effort but still nothing is enough :x competition without prizes is a joke. and pls wake up instead of beliving free TS, free gameserver and BNC's could be considered as prizes when Google recommends you 3 websites instantly where you can get these aswell. Hallo
CrossFire Cups > *
I´m sorry, but tbh BFB didn´t showed how streams should be utilised in ET. Before BFB there were streams and BFB streams didn´t include something new. Quality of BFB stream was not high enough. BFB streamer was not able to stream with movie config. Also they were not able to create some decent graphic for stream.
We (#et.tv) streamed some time before BFB and we managed to do good job as "newcomers". Rito & Jorge shoutcasted and I think they did well.
So sentence "BFB showed how streams should be utilised in ET" is egoistic (appropriated merit)?
e: Btw, You are right about shoutcasters... It´s hard to find someone who can shoutcast match. But if there are some guys, who want to try it, contact me and we can talk about it.
Not true, you can run anticheat also for irc war (open esl wire, run game) what it needs is a little addon for servers which would display players using wire. I think it can be done, since it supports addons etc. Besides players can create party and share link to other team, all joins chat open wire and there u can see who is using wire and who isnt. Another option is Versus then for those "mixes".
