When Return To Castle Wolfenstein was released, a lot of people bought it. These were our own John , and to a lower extent, Jane Doe’s. The average age was average, both old and young played it. The everyday occupation was varied, both the poor and the wealthy played it. And most of all, people from all over the globe were part of this community. Somehow this community evolved into one of the best, and now nostalgic, societies out there.
nice achievements + mentioned players = lol
- no respect or manners at all from tons of young people. It's part of the increasing problems in society. In ET it's even stronger because of the possibility to hide behind the internet.
- the explosion of cheaters taking over ET more and more. Oldschool players will eventually quit, they were used to work hard to get to the top. The new generation of players is tempted to take the shortcut of cheating more and more.

Sure it's a different continent, but it's the same two games in a very similar situation. The point being: in reality the factors you mention aren't so important in moulding the community; it's more about the people and organizations who are dedicated to keeping the game alive and successful.
ET is echo'ing the NA rtcw 'pro' scene. It gradually turned into to dm on pubs and they all started comparing each others aim and then comes a massive increase of kids with aim only and hackers which brought in loads of paranoia (espec as there were some playing for top teams for ages before they were caught [S!lo, wyldwolf and Alphaneo's aprilfools joke] ) This killed the NA rtcw scene.
It's the game which attracts a type of player. Hmmm, think so anyway
+1
i lold about this point, go and get a life u even dont know whats an achievement
i wouldnt wonder when u would be busted aswell, HAHA
furthermore u are including nicks, which shouldnt be mentioned at all and forgot some which should be included
what a nonsense article
And with achievements I ment the level of your playing, not the real achievements you have.
#i_need_a_translator_coz_of_my_decent_english_skillz
fr0g eater french urself plz
Keep your whine out , your always whining like a poor kid.
Hope you liked to getting owned even with h4x
<ensamm> 3on3 med+ gotsrv no laggers or t4ce
<ensamm> last time we played you
<ensamm> we won first map, and you started cheating
<ensamm> or you got a huge skillboost
<3 oldschool banned player, now they are heroes and ofc clean ":D"
Or it was your brother also ? :D
shit
Then you say that cheaters are integrated too fast back into the community. Some of those cheaters you name are also busted for some 'old hack' and do not they too deserve a chance to win back some credibility like Perfo did?
Else way you have a contradiction in your story.
And yes, ofcourse I'm talking mostly about ZaK since he is in my CDC team :P
where did modus prove that he's clean? :$
but im wonderhing where modus proved himself as a clean player
tbh, both mAus and Modus are already a long time playing on the same skill they are playing now, the only difference is they never played with a real top team before a few months .. So I still think if you make a list of new players that became "highskilled" on a very litlle time it'll be a very, very small list.
Nice read btw, one of the better articles
mAus at causeimblack (teamdtk)
modus @ pillars for 5years or smth :p
What about all the guys who get a 6 / 12 month CB ban..
I mean the people playing video games are mostly between 8 and 18 years old (i am not saying grownup shouldnt be a part of it as i am almost 25) but teenagers are not mature yet ,pretty arrogant and that s natural, you cant ask a 14 years old kid to behave like an adult just because you want to play in an adult-only communauty.
If you like playing online you have to bear with the fact that most of the people you will meet are young and hidden behind their computer.
you ll prolly tell me that the rtcw communauty was nicer even if the average age was the same, but as i wasnt part of it i have no clue :p.
Sorry I'm too bor3d of all nolifes whiners so i delete my p0st <3 cu around , or at lans :)
he didnt even play a single one imo
FoM, Belgian lan
read first ask stupid questions later, he was pretty much the sensation of fom 7.1 and there were a lot of people watching him at the lan because he was playing so darn wel
However, I was waiting for some kind of solution from you or an attitude - something we should do. But you just mildly pointed out that we can't really do anything to help things out. So, this all felt kinda futile in my opinion :s
