need a guy with wordpress knowledge

Hi, so im using magain-basic theme from bavotasan.com and i've a lil problem. I want to show my posts on home page like on this web www.betang.com - recent posts should clean up under a box with name of its category. I tried to do it in my own ways using my knowledge but i just failed. If any of you guys know how to help my i'll be very thankfull! :D
