le irc + FUNTrivia

+ my irc's ping went really high lately (showing average of around 300ms, sometimes it takes like couple of seconds for the message to be received by the chat partner..

any idea why this is and how to fix it? its not my connection (in general) as my ping is normal on ET, websites load quick, etc..

because the ping is high again after today's connect

I hope you are using mirc. Tools-options-connect-servers-add and fill it up like that:
description: qnet
irc server: xs4all.nl.quakenet.org
ports: 6669
Press "Add", click on freshly added server, click "Select" and go back to "Connect", click on the button "Connect".

Ow, in this case-> /sbnc set server xs4all.nl.quakenet.org:6669 -> /sbnc jump.

e: ah, but yea, im on this server from you now, guess i should reconnect on the bnc?
e2: got "[16:04] (-sBNC) Syntax: /sbnc set server host port" then jumped, guess that's it?

Yep, you have to be on the bnc server in order to do the commands. And overall the bnc server location could be the cause of high ping also.

server is #2.nl from ycn, the ping went up just this week, no problems before.. anyways, it's fixed now :)
