Keyboard replacement

My current keyboard a razer tarantalus is dying, some of the keys no longer work.

Looking at google possible replacements are the razer blackwidow mechanic or one of the logitech keyboards.

Any opinions? What would you recommend?

Yea I know koop. My current keyboard cost me that but 4 years ago. I use it a ton so don't mind investing in something if it lasts.
Parent
fair point, however keyboards which cost less than a quarter of that can be used for the same thing and last just as long.

but your choice anyway, good luck searching :o)

gogogo get the steelseries 6gv2, or any other mechanical keyboard theyre sex toi the fingers, but the 6gv2 is the cheapest avi atmafaik

nkro keyboard
with micro switches

currently using the razer black widow. its nkro, uses microswitches. I spilled some coffee over it last week and had to go back to my old G15. The G15 felt so slow after using the Blackwidow for so long. 1000 hz polling rate, though I'm pretty sure thaht useless on a keyboard, but hey it will prolly get a few ms off the keyboard response time.

Get one of those clicky keyboards, they are NKRO (press as many keys as you want, no ghosting or jamming) and it uses micro switches (faster key presses + tactile feedback. think I type +20% +30% faster on these keyboards) I really love using those keyboards for hon or sc when you are regulary spamming at keys :) You can usually hear pros spamming their mech kboards on their streams.

theres some cheaper ones used by starcraft players, they go at about 40 euros. Big brands usually ask about 80 euro for them. gl fining one.
Blackwidow isnt nkro

Debouncing time on cherry switches will be around 5ms anyway so 1000hz is indeed useless!

But as cheap mechanicals go Blackwidow is pretty decent I guess, depending on Razer quality control.

im not satisfied with the quality :/ just like any other razer product i ever bought. should have bought the steelseries, lots of ppl seem satisfied with it.

If you have any friends in Taiwan or Korea, you can get high quality keyboards pretty cheap if you can escape customs charges.

Got two filcos one red, one brown tenkeyless for 130euros all together and a topre from korea for 110 euros.

Cherry keyboard (cheap)
Steelseries 6Gv2 (medium)
Filco Majestouch (billionaire)
..
I got my hardware magazine this week and they had a test of mechanical keyboards conclusion: Razer black widow Ultimate is the best one they had in the test if you want a cheaper one go for the steelseries 6gv2
yup, mechanical keyboards > that plastic shit
Parent
I knew I'd find you in this journal promoting your keyboard 8DD

its epic keyboard :)

Id say get a 'clicky' keyboard if u play fps games mostly, a mechanical one if rts/moba games or if u do plenty of typing.
i have a saitek cyborg and really like it, hade a saitek eclipse before also really good.
I've been using my Logitech g11 for about 4-5years now, don't have any probs with it, can see every key and number still even!
random cheap black Dell keyboard > expensive ones
steelseries 6G V2 love it
get a mechanical one, better than these overprized keyboards with functions you never gonna need.. either get a steelseries 6gv2 or a filco, geekhack.org is the best site to get an overview of mechanical keyboards..
Logitech G11,G15?
Read http://geekhack.org They're amazing for anything keyboard related.

Shit for mice though (or they used to be)
Reminds me of when Fredd and I looked through all those ergonomic mice and they all looked so shitty.

Logitech G110 is a proper 1 for around £ 80.

all keys are enlightened so the letters wont fade at all.

should check it out atleast.
oh my god it's JinxStinx. How have you been, my apprentice.
noob gay-fag
get one of those microsoft/dell old classic white keybaords they are still the best.
