i didnt listen to it yet, but since you are pretty open-minded, you should listen to some good old(school) hiphop. not that shit that calls itself hiphop nowadays...

u should listen to nas - illmatic, notorious b.i.g. - ready to die, dr.dre - the chronic, jay-z - reasonable doubt,

these are considered classics and are legendary in the hiphop world without these ppl hiphop wouldnt have existed. and really these are the best albums hiphop can give u and probly will ever give u since nowadays everyone is fucking hiphop up. take my advice and listen to these and your opinion about hiphop will change trust me

there was hiphop before these ppl, but did u know hiphop was then put in the genre of rock? run dmc and shit... the ppl i mentioned all brought something different into the hiphopscene which shaped it into its own genre.
