Hi crossies,
I'd like to buy a new cheap (~700$) desktop or laptop. Need it for editing HD videos, school and maybe casual gaming (ET :D).
I found ASUS K53SV-SX786:
Has ok CPU (Intel Core i5 2410M Sandy Bridge) and enough RAM but graphic card is pretty shit (NVIDIA GeForce GT540M 2GB). All for 800$.
Any suggestion? Any better/cheaper computer?

dont get ATI for laptop
1st ATI = AMD
2nd lowbudget/midbudget AMDm GPUs are obviously better than lows*** Nvidia
maybe Nvidia is only a bit better at highend section..
:)
had Ati 6990m at my laptop and changed it to nvidia 460m cause 6990m SUCKS hard + ati sucks
Overall, the laptop is very awesome!!! I, myself, like it. ;)
And it's pretty good for gayming and all the stuff you said above.
if you can build a pc by your own i would suggest something like this (sry german site/price, dont know the prices at czechia?!):

this is a decent setup for around 700€ !
but nvm not everyone is able to handle this :)
if you want my advice for a laptop/manufactured pc system -> just tell me :D
If you need a good computer, get a PC, not a laptop. Everything gets overpriced and you are normally using it at home / office, not carrying it around the coffee-stores anyway. Minibook / phone will handle the mobility, leave the rest of the stuff to PC.
