Good microphones for gaming

Hi!

As my old Koss SB49 died about week ago, I am looking for table or clip-on mic with price ~50€ max.

I am getting AKG headphones so I don't want to wear headset on my neck for mic use only.

Which microphones do you guys & girls use and any pros and cons on them?

Hukkbro! just get a cheap mic, they dont matter that much

<3
dude.............for a mic it doesnt rly matter.....
of course it does... although it depends what you're using it for
Parent
oh you know what i mean

for yelling @ vent he doesnt need 50euro :ASD:A:S:D
Parent
Might be using it later on to record some voice for streaming purposes.
Parent
i see but do you understand that for that if you want some bad ass quality you will need more than 50euro?
Parent
Logitech table mics are like 15€ max and accurately record pitch etc. Should be more than good.
omg he should not spend so much over a mic.......

dont encourage him perfo :(

Do you use push-to-talk, or does it pick up only your voice and not the keyboard bashing sounds you make?
Parent
Push to talk, it will pick up keyboard mashing if you don't :D

Got a cheapy SpeedLink one for £10 ..no worse than any other one that i've used :)
buy et wallhack for your team and u wont need to use mic XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Would need wallhack for all the other fps games play also so would be cheaper to get a mic.
Parent
oh yeah , but maybe he is only playin et :XD?

urtier recommended me ages ago some speedlink table microphone for ~10€.. using it for 1-2 years now and its just fine.
you can get cheap clip on ones from the likes of speedlink, trust, zalman and such that will be fine for vent

alternatively you've got stuff like beyer, audio-technica, sony, akg etc... for good quality audio recording you really do have to pay for it

if you use voice activation don't get a table mic, look for a unidirectional clip on
I can't seem to be able to use push-to-talk at fast paced games like ET. So I guess it should be unidirectional clip on then.

I had my eyes on Audio-Technica ATR3350 but it seems be omnidirectional so I guess it would pick up all the noise from my keyboard.

Will need to look into beyer, sony & akg.

Thanks for the reply.
Parent
depends really, I have the zalman and although it is omnidirectional i still use voice activation fine, louder stuff like a door closing etc will be picked up but never my typing, unless i'm talking at the same time
Parent
Zalman ZM-MIC1.
Does seem to be omnidirectional, do you use push-to-talk or voice activation with it?
Parent
Voice activation, works fine.
Parent
still using a 5 year old icemat mic :D
Phone + TS3 included => great success
