DVD to AVI/MPEG

hey crossies!

what is the best DVD to AVI/DIVX/MPEG tool?... whats the best tool for converting my dvd movies into a small format, ready to be copied onto my android tablet and phone... what are you using?

i was using DVDx 4.0 but it's so fuckin slow... taking like 30 minutes for 20 mins of movie...

encoding takes alot of time, 30mins for 20mins of movie is nothing special.

i doubt it would take less time with some other program. at least not much. i tried to merge my dvds to x264, took me about 3-4h each.
