yet another series journal 2

Hai,

I'm in need of a new series to watch, either as thrilling and addictive as Breaking Bad or as funny as HIMYM or Scrubs.

Don't want crime/murder-stuff like Dexter, csi, lost and what not, sry for hating your favourite shows ;/


e: developing storyline & characters is obviously a must

I like the mentalist but you probably have to like all knowing godlike persons for that or just pretend you are like him ;)

I am so ashamed for watching Mentalist every now and then. I like it, no doubt!

But there are those moments where they kinda reveal the killer, before it is actually announced. And then I go "JEJ, I AM SMART!", and at the very next second I realize that it is just another of those tricks they use to make the viewer to feel special and smarter than others so he will continue watching the serie. You know?

That's an interesting theory, usually when I come upon a series like that (last one was Psych), I immediately stop watching it, because if I'm able to figure out the plot half an hour before the episode is over, then it's not worth of my time.

well then read first, watch second.
the tension is just sooo much better in the book and you dont want the plot spoilt.

I did it the other way around and I still loved the book. If you read first then watch... you'll probably get annoyed about all the details that got lost in the series. If you watch the series then read... sure you'll know some of the main developments but the small details that make the book great will still be there to explore for you.

New serie "Homeland" has just started, 6 epis out so far. Has some good actors (who doesn't love Winters from BoB?), plot has been more than expected and bla bla.

Not CSI / murder -stuff, good drama instead. I am kinda hooked about how it goes on from now on, has had some interesting twists.

EDIT: When ever I got nothing new to watch, I go for a round of OZ or House, depending which I have finished previously. Band Of Brothers too, now about to finish House again, BoB goes next. Could maybe go for Wire at some point too.

I watched S1 of Suits this weekend, I thought it was fucking awesome.
Also watched misfits.. I really dislike those kind of series with people with superpowers etc.. But this one is quite 'ok'.

& I'm addicted to vampire diaries. (and for the ones who notice the contradiction here, I can't explain myself why I like series like vampire diaries, true blood & being human - but not supernatural etc..)µ


E: Also Camelot seems interesting after a couple episodes. :)

Dexter. Gets better every episode. Not liking anything with crime is no excuse to not watch it, it's not in the least like CSI.

Otherwise my favourite series are : Boardwalk Empire, Sons of Anarchy, Game of Thrones, Supernatural. And Modern Family for sitcoms (like HIMYM)
