DJ Shadow Competition

Hey guys!

Check it out the aciiiid track I've made for DJ Shadow "Scale It Back" Remix Competition.

It would be so amazing if you could help me to be part of the top five entries by listening to my remix once!

Listened to it, didn't like it. Rather boring and extremely repetitive.
Don't be too rude, that's the first track I've ever made :)

Anyway thanks for giving it a try!!!
Parent
Repetitiveness and boringness is quite common in techno music, so don't worry.
Parent
Haha, this track wasn't meant to be so repetitive or boring :D

You should listen to the chemical brothers, they totally changed my mind in terms of electronic music!
Parent
Chemical Brothers aren't repetitive or boring though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hgELxiURLk ridiculously good

I've never said they were!

I've seen them live 3 times already. Amazing show!

ps : is there any chance to get this journal stuck until tomorrow? it would be so helpful =)

Which tools / software did you use by the way? I'm trying to learn how-to create dancy tunes myself but its damn hard , atleast at cubase :p
Parent
I used Reason5 for this track but it is definitely not the most user-friendly software ever. The main advantage is you don't need any VST, since it includes already a great bunch of them (3 synths, samplers, drummachine, mixer, effects). However, you can't use any other VST exept if you rewire reason with another DAW...

I've heard a lot about FL studio or Ableton live, I've never tested them though. It seems quite simple to produce dance tracks by using these 2 software, especially FL Studio.

Cubase is definitely a great DAW aswell, probably not as easier as FL studio. I'm considering using cubase for mixing and 'mastering' my new tracks!
