hey guys,

christmas is coming and as every year we all need some good present for our best friends&family...

i want to buy my brother a first aid equipment for the day after a big hangover... but i cant find any package like that ;/ any1 got a link/shop where to buy something similiar ?

what do you buy for your friends&family?

i will probably go for a massage voucher for my sister and a shorttrip for my parents...

prolly some PRS Les Paul replica. around 600-1000€

cant decide between the two

the latter is cheaper and has two volume knobs, wich I'd like, but I love the feel of the first one >(

well, my lp wasnt that expensive (it was around 360 euros or smth, dunno i am drunk) and its a epi les paul standard.

hmm well i dont like those humbuckers consisting of two combinated single coils, i more like solid single humbuckers, but thats up to the personal preference imo. :p

if i was you, i would go for the second one (i like dark colors :p) but if its that much money you will get spend for you, why not go for a gibson?

well 800-1000 euros is absolute maximum and the gibsons are somewhere around 2000 i think. or even more? dont know for sure

i have no idea whats the difference between two coil and single coil humbuckers, I dont know anything about the technical stuff, I just went to the music store and picked good looking guitars from my price range and those are what I ended up after comparing the sound and the playability of the guitars :)

i should google this shit more

you can get a pretty good gibson for 698 euros already!

ah I saw that one at the music shop but didn't like the look so I dident even play it :) and don't remember the price

if you're an expert can you help me, how much better is a gibson and why? just overall better handcraft or better mics or somth?

i am not really an expert, but i think if you want a les paul you just HAVE to buy a gibson/epiphone because its the original.
playing with my les paul, i couldnt think of playing any other guitar, the humbuckers are very strong and do much noise (:D) without losing any quality in sound! you almost never have to tune the guitar (ok fine tuning maybe, but not much) because the tuning mechanics are very high quality...i could play drop C with the standard strings (!!!) without having the guitar detuning itself, how awesome is that? i still changed the strings to thicker ones, to give the sound more "saturation" but it would be possible to play drop c with thin's. :p

the overall quality of every les paul made by gibson or epiphone (gibson's "daughter") is very good to a really fair price! (gibson = handcrafted in usa, epiphone = handcrafted in asia)

its not just a brand or a name...its THE name man. :P get a gibson and you'll understand. ^^

edit: its no problem if you dont like the looks, gibson has a shitload of tons of designs for their lp's, you just have to search a bit to find the one you like most.

I'm playing with ESP LTD M-50 guitar (240 euros, my first) for 1 year now

It's a good guitar but the strings make weird noises on some frets and the frets are really much higher than on the ones I tried (hurts to do slides on higher frets). also the strings hurt my fingers a bit (+ a les paul is just so much cooler lol).

I need to check out some les pauls too, but only 2 guitar stores near me and I don't want to order online without testing it myself so I need to do more research I think

and yes, a les paul is just too fucking cool. :D
