quad core CPU issues?

So after an extremely long break from et I decided I would try pubbing it again for a bit. I forgot that quad core cpu's have issues and I had recently upgraded. So of course I'm having issues , my computer should hold a steady 250 fps but every 5 seconds it will drop to 90 and then go back up to 250. I tried capping it at 125 but it just drops to 40 instead and goes back up.

I also tried setting the affinity to only use one core on my cpu but that didn't fix it.. Are there any other ways I can possibly fix it or am I just never going to be able to play my favorite shooter of all time again ? :(

try setting the affinity to use two cores
p.s i hope you are aware that the affinity is been reset everytime you close the program

and PS... it's Vista / Windows 7 that's causing the problem.

what about full support to all .exe applications? i don't need it but such a support will be magical and popular

It has full support for all .exe applications ;)... just click browse find the .exe and click launch.

just woke up from sleep but i will try setting it to use two cores when i actually wake up hopefiully that works. thanks for the advice

There is no way that ET can run on two or more cores anyway.
