oh i misread, i don't mean as a "dark passenger" but i mean that gellar is not real, to dexter it isn't obvious but i felt they made it pretty obvious to the viewers

true, but he's supposed to be hidden away though, it's not like a wanted man is gonna stroll around town interacting with all the cops of the show

and there are the times when travis was incapacitated/chained up whatever

he's explained it terribly

it's basically just an expression for the sociopathic side of the character and allows him to justify lots of fucked up shit. the idea of a dark passenger is a construct of a sociopath at the end of the day

yeh was thinking, makes sense, but some plotholes, like when travis and dexter saw gellar walk into the uni on this ep - how? rest could have been travis. When dexter was in chruch first time - who was above on balcony?
