Download speed/client sided network problems

Ok so i have this problem for a while.
I have paid for a 40mbps connection, which in the beginning i had. Soon it dropped to 0.76mbps. The reason back then was Ziggo because of the new modem. Well after a while it got "solved" everybody in this house gets 40 mbps except for me.

I use wireless but this should not really be a problem only the settings maybe?
i tried:
reset router
reset modem
hardcore reset modem
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns

netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)
netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)

So after doing the netsh resets when i rebooted i got a nice connection noticed by my torrents. So i was happy 3 mins later i went to speedtest.net and get the awesome 0.76 again and my torrent dropped to 100kb/s instead of the 4.7mb i reached once and the normal 3-3.5 steady.

If anyone can help me pleas i would appreciate it. help me here or contact on irc /q FGH`Halidith

try to ipconfig /quit
How are you wireless speeds over LAN?

e.g. sending a file from your laptop to another client in the network
dunno didnt test

try the speedtest when directly connected (and if its the same, maybe with another pc(while the other one is disconnected))
its a software issue imo
Parent
thats what it's supposed to show to you - since you hardly run the same software on all the pc's in your home network

just give it a try i'd say, what's more to lose than a few minutes of your time?! :)
Parent
mm its the first 6 mins high with wireless too, got this the first min on wired http://www.speedtest.net/result/1621388834.png
Parent
since you stated it happened after a period of time, i suppose you'd want to check over a period of time. if it's not happening on wired at all, then you can be pretty sure, that it's no software issue at all(except maybe bugged wireless drivers...that you could test with a 2nd device on wireless, from where you normally use your notebook). could otherwise either be your router or wifi card inside the notebook, if it's fine for everything else, well then it's definitely just your wifi card/driver)

ok so its still stable getting 3.5mb download speed im going to test if my cord for my wireless reciever is bugged or somthing else i look for some drivers

its all going in motherboard ports btw not any special network card
wireless is via usb network reciever
Parent
should've said that earlier :D

those usb-network devices sometimes tend to either overheat or to simply spam the usb port far too excessive, you could either try a different usb port, but it's pretty safe to say, that it's just your usb-device i'm afraid
Parent
Ok so i should get a network card or just go wired?
Parent
well if you don't necesarrily depend on wireless you should get a cable, yep, for downloading anyway :P

otherwise yep, you should, though i can't tell you if there are any products worth buying ;)
Parent
well ive been struggling with wireless for a long time. want cable but parents go rage if they see a cable and trough the walls is not really an option. im getting http://www.speedtest.net/result/1621913216.png when i place the wireless and i get http://www.speedtest.net/result/1621928044.png after some time using wireless

you could try powerlan, easy to set up, and on close range its pretty efficient. only on longer ranges it gets inefficient (such as more than one level inside your house)

is nowadays up to 500mbit afaik, though those cost more than the 80mbit ones, which, if you're not really using your lan, just your inet, you could certainly use those instead

it's just using normal sockets and lets you use those as lan port (you obviously need 2, one in your room and one at the router)
Parent
you mean via the power(electric) network?i tried that when it was in somekind of beta
Parent
yep, those ones. using it at home, though as mentioned; over great distrance the speed is rather low (on 80mbit ones) on rather short distances, such as flats or single story buildings they should work like a charm imo
Parent
from my pc to the router is like 7meter max the problem is the hallway and the walls;p so if i use the powernetwork its fine as long as it is on the same level
Parent
well the more stories, the longer the cabling might be, but 7m shouldn't do much towards slowing it down, sounds like it might be worth a try in your case imo

its somthing with my pc software, going to reinstall tommorow will let u know the outcome. today i could not browse go msn or anything only with the openstanding xfire and skype(voip) had browser also open but didnt work after some rare time, after changing something in my host file and quiting a game ...

well i think everything is fixed if i reinstall anyway;p
