LAN / Router questions

I'm trying to set up a small LAN with about 6 mates. Basically I'm just wondering if its possible to run a LAN through 2 routers on the same network. We want to connect 6 PC's up but only have a couple of 4 port Ethernet routers. This possible or will a 6 port hub be needed?
