Killing Time v81

Yo

So well, le vacation starts, lots of free time and that means I'll be fucking bi- ... bored a lot. So I'm basically looking for series/films/anime's(:D)/anything visual that can help me kill time.

I prefer "fantasy" the most but by that I mean anything that is not possible ( like "Samurai X" from back in the day!), I can't really explain it, I just hate average real life serious tvshows/movies because there are so many of them so I only watch the best then, or something like that.

negative, went to one of their events two years back and I was very dissapointed :P I think it was "Star Warz", just the same name, organised on or around christmas 2009, it sucked balls :D

well the story appears to be quite interesting at first but that is true for many series. what you really have to judge tho isnt the pilot and first plot oriented episodes but the "more settled down" ones.
and the (interesting/good) setting loses it charme pretty fast and the "day to day" episodes are just utterly boring and from "how to write a TV series 101" textbook.
its just boring and nothing special at all.

TL;DR: the episodes which do not deal with the overall plot are just too generic
and for the sake of the little tussle we got going: why kill time? kill yourself.

I feared as much, you basically just summed up the problem that most want-to-be-epic shows have, the only recent one that I've watched that beat that issue was Game of Thrones

cause GoT is based on books and they actually have to cut out 90% of the content to fit 1000pages into 10 episodes.
the books are dirt cheap on amazon (like 20e for the first 4 out of 5).
get them, they are up there with LotR books, merlin saga and stuff like that.

I'm a huge reader and the books ( songs of fire and ice if I'm not mistaken?) are definitely on my list, though atm I'm re-reading the wheel of time ( which is epic )

if you want other quality series of books :

- The night angel trilogy
- The tawny man trilogy
- The ages of five
and you've already mentioned lotr & merlin so well

i can't completely agree with you. yeah, terra nova has some extremely bad writing (infact i was more annoyed by the stupid kids and their stories, i just don't give a fuck, i hope the little girl dies a horrible death and the teen girl becomes evil, i hate her.) and yes, the day to day episodes are just so boring and easy to make, it gives no enjoyment at all. HOWEVER, it's only a first season. they might try and introduce you to the world and environment, before they move forward in the story. they have endless options to develop the series and this what keeps me watching it. so far it's quite a junk, but it can be produced into a complicated thrilling series that we are so starved for lately.

original script is much better but pretty much everything has been changed somehow .. maybe they're lookin for easier way to do TV-show or to save some cash, but cant really give writers clean papers about this. Few Ok episodes but thats about it, if it would stop here i wouldnt miss it at all. That beeing said, there's rumours that the show will add some "high" level writers for the 2nd season (decision about 2nd season shud come midjanuary but looks good so far)

i have expectations for this series, and ever since fringe i won't judge a series based on it's first season (fringe 1st season had nearly no connection to the rest of the seasons and it changed completely). though if they continue in the current route, then this series should expect a huge dead end (and i will cry that there will never be a good 'new' thrilling series)
have you seen the last 2 double episodes? (i think they're the last) i want to watch them soon and wonder if there is anything special there.

i guess season finale opened some options for second season and keep viewers interested meanwhile but dno still a lot of bad writing. i guess you either like or hate it. could've been better for sure.

i liked the episode. it had more development in the story than in the entire season, which was good. kept me watching and my heart in a higher rate than usual. was a bit disappointed that most of the times things looks too simple and everything goes right for the 'good' side. don't know wether the bombing will mean that there won't be any relation to the future anymore in this series and it's all about two camps in the jungle, but we'll have to wait and see. i enjoyed the episode and am looking forward to the second season.

I guess the Badlands isr something else out there. Another portal or the ship could've hinted for different timeline - something wierd for sure. Just hoping they're not going all Lost with it. But yeh pretty much everything is possible :D

and yeah too much James Bond there :D was pretty cliche

je hoort mij niet zeggen dat series of enig andere filmmateriaal bekijken, no-life is..
ik suggereer alleen, misschien op een niet gepassioneerde manier, dat er wanneer je je verveelt ook altijd nog je vrienden zijn. Tevens in de content van je journaal staat niet vermeld waarom je boring bent, dus wijs ik alleen op het feit dat je ook tijd kunt maken voor je maten en wanneer deze aanwezig is GF :), anyway heb een leuke vakantie jonge, geniet ervan!

Tja, als je een richting doet waar je 12 jaarwerken per semester hebt dan is het best wel logisch dat je examens minder lastig zijn ;)
