G5 Mouse settings

Hello again. I had to format my pc yesterday and i'm nearly done, everything ready to go again, except the mouse settings.

I was wondering how do you configure your G5 (or similar mouse).
I used to install latest setpoint, set 1000hz, disable accel n stuff, apply markC patch, 400 dpi, but my mouse has been weird lately.. unsmooth n stuff.

Care to share your configurations, tweaks , patchs n stuff? Right now without setpoint (everything default) it feels fucking heavy.

Cheers and thanks in advance.

edit: using windows 7 64bits

Clean the laser with that ear cleaning stuff you know.
You have the worst mouse ever :D I own a G500 too and it's fucking horrible and heavy :o
Parent
no better then g5

i own a mx510/518 and g5.....
Parent
never.. it's heavy, unbalanced (weights more at "front" or smth, can't remember), laser is not in the middle, too big blablablabla
Parent
doesn't matter where the laser is ...
Parent
imo its great and u can change the weight.
and if its too heavy , grow some muscels :D
also it fits perfectly with ur hand, using it for more than 2 years i think and i still love it :D
peace out
Parent
+1

its shitty if you play with superlow sensitivity and have spaghetti arms; otherwise its a really comfortable mouse imo. back and forward with mouse4/mouse5 is just epic in web and file browsers <3
Parent
thats what im talking about :D (Y)
Parent
Well, g5 = one of the shittiest mouse ever, its more useful for pet's toy as a mouse for you.
Seems like i have the 2 worst mouses ever :D G5 and G500, planning to sell G500 and buy a G400 perhaps...

ps: i use this g5 for 6 years or nearly 6yo :X
Parent
G400 = really good own it like 4 months or something and works like a charm
Parent
g400 = mx518 xD
Parent
think about the ikari (optical or laser, both are ok)

or something similar like the qpad (i didn't try neither the laser nor the optical)

the grip is pretty awesome!!!
Parent
So untrue, G5 was better than my current mx518, maybe it's too fast for slowbies
Parent
you still aim shit though :/
Parent
How do you know how i aim
Parent
seen you @ nbs :)
Parent
Seen me at NBS with my 150-450 stable ping? hooray
Parent
From a technical point of view, the MX518 is vastly superious both its maximum acceleration speed and its maximum speed. G5 has negative acceleration all over the place, the sensor cant keep up with fast mouse movement speeds. G5 too sensitive? You must be one of those noobs who thinks DPI = accuracy, while in ET more DPI means less accuracy (due to a bug in the game engine) But of course, every noob will claim the mouse he uses is teh bestest mouse of them all. Have a nice day. Noob. Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam.
Parent
Learn to read, im using mx518 atm but still my G5 was more accurate, just by reading the technical shit u think u know something?
Parent
Indeed personal preference is a way better way of measuring the accuracy of a mouse.
Parent
CPI = accuracy. G5 is more accurate. MX518 is better for ET and for gaming overall. End of story.
Parent
google esreality mousetest, read the part on how to calculate the DPI, taking into account your sensitivty + resolution and you'll end up with a max value of about 1000 DPI for 95% of all gamers. Accuracy =! dpi. G5 has more DPI yet it skips at high maximum speeds and will suffer from extreme negative accel when doing flicks.

But ofcourse you know better, you obviously have read a lot about this subject. Furthermore Carthage must be destroyed.
Parent
Yes I know more about this subject than you, sorry to tell you. Still CPI = accuracy, but for games it doesn't matter that much.

+ you start to bring things like neg acc + max speeds etc, so what? G5 is shit, but it doesn't change the fact that CPI = accuracy. Get your facts right.

QuoteHigh Sens: 360 degrees in 0.1 m (4"), roughly 1000 DPI needed

Medium Sens: 360 degrees in 0.25 m (10"), roughly 400 DPI needed

Low Sens: 360 degrees in 0.50 m (20"), roughly 200 DPI needed
`

the sensor might register at 5000 counts per inch, but as long as your screen resolution isnt r_mode 16 it wont matter ... but ofcourse in a purely theoretical situation cpi = accuracy, too bad that in reality it doesnt matter a fuck as long as you got about 400 / 800 dpi depending on screen resolution / sensitivity. now grow a brain and get back to me

overdrive said: "You must be one of those noobs who thinks DPI = accuracy"

DPI(CPI) = accuracy. End of story.
Parent
fine, use your theoretical construct to measure reality. Accuracy is based on, FPS of the sensor, datapath, hardware, lift off distance and lots of factors. If you think cpi = accuracy, go right ahead. Furthermore, Carthage must be destroyed.
Parent
Lol, those things are not about accuracy, just go ahead and live in your world, gg.
Parent
great arguement, you win. Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam.
Parent
he is right :) mx518 > g5 anytime, any where... the technical shit is true
Parent
Maybe, i just find G5 being more solid as it is heavier.
Parent
And from a technical point of view its a failmouse, though it has great advertising and all the noobs swear its the bestest mouse everest.
Parent
true, G5 is shit compared to some microsoft or razer mouses

anyway since it seems that you know lots about mouses i've question for you

why newer mouses has got higher dpi since its better to play with lower dpi and higher sens?
Parent
heavy cause the pro mouse got pro weights inside
oh wait it's over 100g without them
I don't use weights ^^
Parent
i heard that setpoint causes little bit of lag\latency to your mouse movement, but not sure about that. i used my g5 without setpoint and it worked pretty good, but DA still better than g5.
I'm afraid of buying a DA, because:
- i'm used to logitech shape, might not get used to DA
- they are always broken -.- my Logitech mouses lasts for ages!
- never had a razer at all, not sure about drivers and overall feeling
- only respawn available at portugal and i won't buy a used mouse!
Parent
what gifted said. plug & pown.

I never installed setpoint coz it gave some shitty stuff to mouse.

"- i'm used to logitech shape, might not get used to DA"
DA is shaped just like mx518 not hard to get used to

" they are always broken -.- my Logitech mouses lasts for ages!"
Well :D i broke like 5 mx series mouses.

"never had a razer at all, not sure about drivers and overall feeling"
drivers are way better than logitechs

"only respawn available at portugal and i won't buy a used mouse!"

i think the only version u get these days is the respawn version.
Parent
well, palm grip and claw grip makes a big difference! DA seems to "require" by the looks of it a claw grip.. logitech shall fell better with palm grip...

Not sure if i'm talking bullshit, but the shape is a bit different thats why.

I've never did it like gifted said because: 1000hz and accelaration have to be changed !
Parent
Ye u need to use programs in XP to get rid of those accelaration stuff and 1000hz

in 7 i didnt have to do anything for accelaration and if i want 1000hz i just plug it to usb 3 port. it is automatically 1000hz.

or just use razer drivers where u can choose between 125/500/1000 if i remember right

edit.
and you can use palmgrip in da! If u dont have small hand
Parent
i've got Deathadder 1800hz since 3 years and it works great for me.

Driver-wise it is great for me because I only installed them, changed dpi to 900 and polling rate to 500, did some changes in x/y axis and started to play and it stays the same for 3 years.

Shape is also pretty good, but it might not fit a very big hand
Parent
thx i might buy it soon
Parent
not at all, plug & pown.
BOOM G+ PLAYA
image: 1887_aimbot

take this moron !!
is that the new mx518.exe icon? : O
Parent
- i'm used to logitech shape, might not get used to DA
zowie EC 2 (if i remember correctly) is between the mx518 and the dadder

- never had a razer at all, not sure about drivers and overall feeling

drivers are great!

- only respawn available at portugal and i won't buy a used mouse!

if you want almost the same sensor as in da 1800 dpi (go for zowie EC)
