Who drives a Quad and/or ATV?

hello Anonymous motocrossies,
Who of you has experiences with driving a QUAD/ATV or has an own QUAD/ATV? Which Quad you got? How many ccm? Good or Bad experience?
I drove a Quad in my Egypt Egypt (Hurghada) Holiday this summer for the first time and it was amazingly addictive, couldn't stop driving over the hills and dunes through the egyptian Desert. I drove with a Honda Recon Fourtraxx 250ccm machine over there and it was fucking ownage.

I am looking for a different machine and prolly gonna buy this one:

250 ccm :D:D
why are you laughing? it's ok for beginners... everything else is too expensive for me at the moment... wanna first have a look if i will use it or not ;) it would be a just 4 fun thingy for me... nothing i need to drive to work or so... just for having fun in hilly ground and rough terrain

what are you driving?

Drove multiple ones. Even drove 125 cc and i think that 250 wont be enough or you will be bored so easily. Rather get something bigger and buying something so expensive to "try if I use it". Well, that sentence says it all :D

Well, one of my friend has a Suzuki 250ccm quad and he is satisfied with it... and the local quad club also has many 250ccm drivers... i think it will be enough for me... i am used to 50ccm scooter as toy ;) and if i am not going to use it i will sell it again... simple as... price is pretty stable for good brands... another point is that i can get that one up VERY cheap (-1000€ discount)....

If you really want to use it, maybe do some trial (trails ?) you will need at least 500 in my opinion.
Parent
yeah i am planning that already... first gonna test it at the place i wanna use with the quad of my friend and ofcourse do trials at the store

In this journal: Min 2200cc, otherwise child's toy.

Yes they are great fun while on vacation, been there done that, but make sure you can have the same experience once home before buying one. I made that mistake and bought one because of the buzz I had while on vacation but it's never quite the same once you have one at home and then find that you need to transport it over a 100 miles to find some where suitable to have fun on it.
I am living in south germany, it's a sand region... many sand pits around... there is a local quad/atv club i want to join in... seeing them drive around A LOT in summer months... you could be true... i am planning to do some trial drives before i buy

Just speaking from past experience but yes, trial and or hire first for a while then decide before buying :)

Used to have them in family when I was a kid, great fun, 50cc (suzuki), 125cc (suzuki) and 350cc (polaris)

Some friends had them when I was in high-school, ones tuned their 50cc suzuki to 80cc cylidern and other stuff, engine was the same as in mopeds, we had drunk-races with it :)
thanks for sharing ur story
