4 GB ram but only 2.92 GB usable?

First of all, wtf is this? I have a 4GB ram but I can only use 2.92 GB? According to the guy who made my PC, I will be needing to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit to maximize my ram (currently at 32 bit). However, I have no idea how to do that. So yeah, how do I upgrade to 64 bit?

I would also like to ask if there are alternative solutions to maximize my ram because I have heard that ET is fucked up at 64 bit?

I'm actually pretty OK right now except that my Need For Speed: The Run keeps on crashing. Sometimes, when I load it, I just see a green screen but I can hear the menu sounds. I would also appreciate it if I can fix this without upgrading to 64 bit. Thanks. :)

Don't know where you heard that but SO not true.

You need 64bit OS to recognize over 3GB or ram, or there abouts 3GB. How do you upgrade to 64 bit OS, by installing or upgrading to 64 bit OS :) Your guy that made/built your pc seems like a bit of a tosser tbh, have you asked him these questions ? maybe a good idea to do so ;)

push windowsbutton + R => type msconfig and push enter => Boot => Advanced options => uncheck the maximum memory checkbox => ok => ok => reboot and all the memory is back!

i got 4core .. but hmm idno i guess i got somethin wrong in my BIOS :x

maybe the other ram isnt plugged in well/broken? Or do you see 8000mb ram available? or does it say only 4 available otherwise my trick should work in most occasions :)

i think the onboard intel graphics card is using RAM and you are using a 32 bit OS

Use uTorrent to download a new O/S, copy it to your USB stick/Harddisk or burn it on CD.
Those files usually come with help.

Or buy one from some shops near you, any shop with some kind of electronics should have Windows 7 64bit, they cost like hell tho.
